Why are some links..
Why do some people have to put things like "at" and "dot" for their email/links..
like http://lindatruong.com.au/blog/?page_id=38 she put [@] and asked people to remove the brackets.. =/ |
That way reduces the amount of spambots that pick up on your e-mail address.
Edit: Now that I look at the link, the link is an actual mailto. She's trying to reduce spambot flooding but is clueless. Edit again: If I ever post my e-mail address in an open place on the web, I always use a graphic for the @ and the . to reduce the amount of spam. If you don't, you'll get hundreds of thousands a day, even on a rather obscure page. The spam bots are relentless. |
Ohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!
That's one important piece of information! Might explain why I've got so much spam!!! Not that I post my email address everywhere, but I'm sure I've done it before... |
