nah. ace tried to kill blackbeard once but because of blackbeard's power he failed and got captured. you might be thinking about whitebeard. in the last fight he should've died 34525234523453 times.

it's zoro. though the japanese sound isn't exactly an r or an l i think r is closest and that's how it's romanized (at least every time i see it). but for some reason at some point during their dubs or manga translations, can't remember which i read, they started calling him zolo.
