how safe is it?

pretty safe. if you're worried about the seller you can usually check their comments to see how safe adn reliable they are. if it's someone new then i guess you'll just have ot take your cahnces and hope they're good. but i think most likely you'll end up with a slow sender at worst.

As safe as any other online auction/shopping site

A majority of the time EBay is alright but if you are buying something off EBay always check the item description for the condition of the item so you know exactly its condition and what you are getting etc and ALWAYS check the item sellers feedback before buying the item. The better the users feedback is the more they can be trusted.

The odds of buying something from a sender and not having it actually arrive are around 0.1% at best.

I've purchased a few things from EBay myself but I used a relative to purchase for me since I did not have the patience to setup a a Ebay account. Every item Ive purchased always arrived generally on time and in the condition stated in the item description but never forget to check the seller feedback

Hm, btw what payment method is best? Paypal? Is it free? I don't have a debit/credit card but I can use my sisters. So I would need to set up a Paypal acc right?

Be a little more careful with computers and stuff like that. Just read the descriptions carefully.
