I have killed countless zombies and the damn amulet won't drop...why?

Umm. No idea.. only thing I can say is keep trying, which I know it isn't very useful. It sometimes takes a VERYYY long time, sometimes it drops quickly. Maybe you're one of the unlucky ones. D:

I really hope it's not that, but I am beginning to think it is. My clan members amulet dropped very first mob for them.

You could always waste money on the Store pack that includes a +x% drop rate card.
