Mages suck?
[EDIT] I deleted and started over. My problem was I stated my mage wrong cuz i was a nub. I love my mage now =]
Hello people Anyone else buried under 2.5 feet of snow? I am!! :cutielove: so since i cant finish my xmas shopping i decided to play some Fiesta, which i haven't played in days. I have been playing my archer for months and i'm slightly bored with it for the moment so i started a new character. I made a mage and lvled it to 17 and i found that i die a lot. i mean i die multiple times an hour which is wierd because when my archer was lvl 17 i was plucking off Mara pirate Elites with no problem. My mage i cant even fight Boogys with out going super close to dieing. Am i doing something wrong? I refined my staff to +3 and i got all the right armor. I believe i have all my spells and junk set up correctly. So why am i dieing so much? Does the mage get better when it gets higher lvl? Should i keep lvling and keep with it? As of right now i'm probably going to delete the mage and start another character. So the point of this post is what should i do? |
Mages are ownage.
They arn't that great for soloing though until maybe 40+ Get high end/dex gear and bring pots with you for soloing. |
Every character have a different characteristic, I went from a Cleric to Archer and I thought Archer died a lot.. (I just got myself killed 5 times with the Mushroom Fighter at level 5, when I could handle it with a cleric)
Mages definitely have the squishy-ist base stat... you make it up with good END gear or even enhanced armours... but I guess at low level (under 30) you just have to be careful, learn to kite (run and hit) and fight stuff maybe 1 or 2 levels below you... I use to hate my mage, but it's now my highest level character coz after lvl 60 it's so easy to AOE with a cleric.. But that's up to you.. maybe try a fighter if you're sick of dying.. keke |
ok so i'll keep with it to lvl 40ish and i'll learn to kite (never heard that one before)
Thanks guys =] |

Mages have the potential to be complete ownage. But I've seen some pretty fail ones.
I have done some testing and realized Outspark needs to higher a mathematician when it comes to stats and enhanced gear. |
^ correct.
Well, if I'd give my opinion. Level 60+ is where Mages really shine. Getting to level 60 though, would be the most difficult with this class. Just my dos sentimos. |
Agree with the fact that each class tends to shine in a certain level group. Ftrs totally rule in lower (1 - 40 ish), archers in the mid-group (50 - 70) and mages own the upper levels. This also depends on the players skill. I have played with some folks who do incredible things with each class regardless of level. I have also played with archers who can't kite, mages who try to tank and clerics who focus on fighting and ignore the party. Play the mage, learn its strengths and weaknesses at lower levels and when you get frost, sit back and grin!

Thanks for all the advice guys i'll stick with it then =]

My mage is lvl 49 now I almost gave up on it having my first capped character ever being a cleric I breezed through it only to find the struggles of the paper mage
but now in the 40's im seeing real potentail in being a mage. Make sure you gear has good end and that your int is really high you want to get your attacks so powerful that basically you can kill your enimies before they even know what hit them or before they run up and hit you |
