The GOP (the right-wing party in the United States) is trying to appear young and hip by having a URL shortener (like bit.ly) for Twitter.

They aren't filtering the URLs. They also have the Republican chairman walk out onto the screen and make a pitch for the party. It's hilarious to watch him talk about the "new GOP" in front of hardcore porn. For an example, I'll link to Fiestafan:

The "wings" were decided during the French revolution, due to the seating arrangement of the Parliament. The terms just sort of...stuck.

But yeah... while i somewhat understand the ideology of the right wing (to a degree,) i think their ideologies have failed to evolve and their leaders have proven themselves to be some of the worst, most dishonest politicians out there (i.e. preaching about family values and then getting a divorce from your wife right before she gets cancer treatment... though i suppose that example's rather dated, assuming what i read in "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot and Other Observations" by Al Franken was true... Or the fact that a large majority of the politicians who have sex scandals are conservative...)
