Intel or AMD Laptop? Need your help Triumph and Andro. Okay...maybe

Me and my sister are going to buy a laptop. So I would like some help on choosing a laptop. I'm going to buy it a tigerdirect, since it's really cheap. Remember, price will play a big role. So, I want to start with the basics. When I go to the website it says amd or intel laptops. I googled it but couldn't find a really clear answer. So what do you guys recommend? Battery life wont be a problem. It'll only be at home. So we can always hook it up. The big programs that will be on it will probably be Photoshop, Flash, and my games. So what laptop type, Intel or AMD?

Also, the type of games i'll be playing are games where reaction time is crucial. I don't like mmorpgs much anymore. The type of games I like and play a lot are like league of legends and starcraft. So reaction time would be really needed. I'd be playing it hooked up with a mouse of course.

After looking at prices more, I think i'll buy desktop instead. Monitor won't be a problem, I can just buy a cheap one of ebay. So, intel or AMD pc?

Price mainly. And being able to go on computer on the bed. XD

You have to buy 2 parts o.o

Still, you get more for your money going for the desktop, even if you do have to buy a monitor. More RAM, faster processor, better graphics card, easier to keep cool, easier to upgrade...

ok ok...
I guess i just assumed it. I'm looking at the prices and they are pretty cheap... Did my dad get ripped off when he bought us a desktop pc for $1000 a couple years ago from dell?

price including the monitor
and it was monthly payments

Dell tends to be a bit on the pricey side, but it might not have been a bad deal, depending on what the specs are.

Well.. It can barely handle LoL which you can see when I play. Long load time, I lag a lot in the first 2-3minutes of the game. Sometimes I get sudden lag when it's pretty bad and i get 0 fps. I don't dare to alt tab or i'll be gone for who knows how long. It lags at the ending animation. When I press close or whatever button it is at the end it takes forever to close. Does that give you an idea of the specs?

Not to mention that going form the pvp.net client into the loading screen takes a long time..
