PvP build or not?
 

My one friend has an enchanter and he put 4 points towards Fear's duration and my other friend with an enchanter makes fun of him and calls him a PvP mage and he's a PvE build bucause he could have put those points to something like nova or inferno. Please post any thoughts you have on this.

There's really no difference between a "PvP mage" and a "PvE mage" — Nova, Inferno and Magic Burst are used in PvP as much as PvE. At least for me. Empowering Drain Mind's duration is almost necessity. Empowering Stifle's duration is a different story.

I agree with the point above. If aoes was pve only mages would fail. Pvp Mage must use a thoughtout combination of aoes and attacks to drop a target. A Mage is primarily a mob control specialist. Reguardless of if someone chooses to specialize in killing 1 target or killing 20+ a Mage will always be a mobclearer

I'm a pve mage, and I've put points in Mind Drain (Fear) AND nova + inferno.. I think I had enough points for both...

Mind Drain without duration is almost useless.. coz its only for like 3 sec or something?

I can second that, I don't have points in Mind Drain (cos I failed at putting points in skills earlier XD) and I never really use it. Even chain fearing Robo at the end of KKP didn't last til the end.

Again, I don't think there's any difference between PvE and PvP mages. A mage's empowerments are virtually the same with one who PvPs a lot and one who doesn't. At least until you become a Wizard or Warlock. Wizards have no problem owning in PvP anyway.
