Tarching Mara
After 6 months of procrastinating, I finally leveled my archer to L20 in anticipation of doing the job change quest. However, it's either bugged at the start or Shutian won't give me the quest until I finish the Mara KQ, so reluctantly I joined one. We get started, and 9 of our 15 are clerics, none over L18, so no revs are possible. Only 2 fighters are in, and one keeps whining that he only has one life left. By this point, we are down to him, me, a cleric and one other archer. We pull Mara and the fighter and I start in on the fight. The other archer go into mushroom hiding, and the cleric isn't keeping up with the heals on the fighter - he goes down in a ball of flames. Now Mara is all mine. I have on several T2 scrolls and have a 100,000HP potion that I am spamming heal on between hits on Mara. After 6 or 7 minutes when I have it down close, the cleric takes a swing at Mara and runs, Mara follows, archer in mushroom gets splattered, game over, and 3 shots later Mara goes down. Somehow we won against all odds, and the best part is the archer that was leaching got pwned by a very smart cleric. Unfortunately, the reward sucked - I got a pair of statless green L14 boots, but it was still quite a rush. I still hate KQs, but a few more like this and I may become a fan.
