[Outspark] To Arms! Guild Tournament (Beta) is Here!

Quote:

The time for organized battles has arrived!

Today, our team is pleased to announce the latest content addition to Fiesta Online, the anticipated Guild Tournament system.

In order to ensure that all bugs are worked out prior to the official launch, this system will be included into the game to be beta tested by anyone who would like to participate. Within this time, we will be taking as much feedback as possible from the forums where a new category will be created soon. For now, feel free to post your feedback within PvP or if it's a bug, please use the bug reporting section.

In its current state we do not have an official guide for this release though one will follow shortly after we've confirmed that the system is in working order.

So, here's how it works...

Registration

Registration begins Monday through Thursday and you can do so with any of the Guild Manager within Roumen, Elderine, and Uruga. Registration will be limited to guilds with 10 or more players that are level 20 or above. Once registered, anyone in the guild can participate without any level restrictions.

Registration cost is 10 gold which is paid at the guild master at the time of registration.

A total of 16 teams will be chosen at random for that week's tournament. There are NO REFUNDS, even if your guild has not been chosen to participate. Those 16 guilds will not be able to accept new member nor will players be able to leave the guild until the tournament is over for that week.

Schedule

First round: Guilds 1 - 8 will battle on Saturday at 7:00PM PDT
First round: Guilds 9 - 16 will battle on Saturday at 8:00PM PDT
Quarter Finals: The 8 winning guilds from the first round will battle on Saturday at 9:00PM PDT.
Semi Finals: The 4 winning guilds from the quarter finals will battle the next day, on Sunday at 8:00PM PDT.
Final round: The 2 remaining guilds will battle on Sunday at 9:00PM PDT.

Note: These times may be subject to change based on feedback.

Participation

Each guild member of the participating guild will receive a pop-up window 5 minutes prior to the start of each match. Once participation is confirmed, the player will be automatically teleported into the Guild Tournament map where the match will begin shortly after. If no one confirms participation, or if there are no guild members present at the time of confirmation, the guild will forfeit the match.

There is no limit to the amount of players that can participate in each match, which means that guild strength and organization will be crucial to success.

Matches can also be observed through the Guild Tournament bracket screen by clicking on the guild you'd like to watch.

Scoring

There are 3 ways to win.

- Capture all 5 flag locations and hold them for five minutes.
- Have the higher score between the two teams when the time expires, there are 30 minutes each round.
- Be the first to reach the maximum score of 1000 before the time runs out.

When a flag is captured, it will become a new teleport point. When a user dies, and spawns back at their base, they can teleport to any of the captured Flag locations.

Every time a guild member is killed, the guild master will receive a point which can be used to buff everyone in the guild or debuff every guild member in the enemy guild.

If the score is tied when the match time runs out, a roll of dice will determine the winner, which will appear on screen.

Completion

After each battle is over, the winning guild master receives points which can be used to purchase items from the "Guild Item Merchant" NPC in Roumen.

After the tournament ends, 40% of the entire registration fee is collected and rewarded to the 1st place guild. 20% will go to the guild that placed 2nd, and 5% will go to the two guilds that placed 3rd. 30% of the registration fee will be absorbed by the system. The 16 chosen teams can be confirmed by visiting Guild Manager Brom and selecting "Guild Tournament >> Schedule or View participant". Schedule can also be confirmed via the Guild information tab from the Community window which can be opened by pressing F.

Good luck to all guilds!

Interesting.

Side note, remember to type in the whole title and not just [Outspark] so we know what it's about, lol. ;)

Hmm.. Interesting. However, with the chance that you could be simply throwing away 10g with no refund... Not a lot will participate.

That seems like a really piss-poor part of the system, but everything else seems pretty cool.

Then again, all of the upper-leveled guilds won't have a problem throwing away 10g, and they'll be the ones wiping the floor with everyone else...

my guild could easily put up 10g but... :S i hope that its a typo.. because thats crazy... or maybe they meant 10g as a sum of all the miney the guilds put in? like 1g each or something? >_<;

Hraesvelg 09-23-2009 07:00 AM

I could see 10g as an entry fee if you're guaranteed a slot.

OH lol. I forgotten to type the title. Dx
Sorry bout that.

Entry fee is 10g and its like gamble really if you aren't selected as one of the 16 guilds there goes your 10g. But the prize pool is from all of the money from all the guilds that entered weither they made it into the tournament bracket or not so if 30 guilds joined that's a total prize pool of 3 gem. It pays off big time for the winning guild but everything below is a rip off really.

have anyone checked in roumen town chief what can you buy with the guild points won from guild war?

keeps the riff raff out. And i agree, why not just limit particapation to the first
16 guilds that week? And why "absorb" a % of the prize? Its not like the gold has any value to OS unless they intend to sell it to the gold spammers lol. It does remove part of the M1 money supply in the game economy however.

Seems like the key to the whole thing is to have your plp online for the event.
