you guys who have been downloading games
 

over the past i don't know, year? well don't know all the companies that use it but i know outspark does. so how many of you have pando running and don't know about it? i remember raging about this like last year maybe? not sure. did outspark start telling people that it's in their downloads yet?

for those that don't know, pando media booster is a p2p application that some companies have started using. my problem with it? they don't even tell you that they're installing it or what it does. not only that but it doesn't even have an icon to show you it's running. you'll just suddenly notice your bandwidth being used up and won't know why.

i alrdy new about this but ty ^.^

I haven't noticed it with anything I've installed. I'm a bit anal retentive about the things running on my process list. What other companies aside from Outspark are using it?

i haven't been downloading games much but so far turbine is one. the ones i know don't use it are ijji, gpotato, and alaplaya.

How do you check whether you've got it running?

It might be why my bf's running low on bandwidth all the time! XD

do I just look for it in add/remove programs?

that works, it also has an icon in the control panel. and if ti's running if you press ctr+alt+delete and go to processes it's named PMB.exe

is it only used for download of the clients?

Do they use it for the patch updates?

I noticed it when I tried to install Fiesta over here.


Are they still distributing the installers using P2P? Because that's seriously ...


They don't tell you that they do it like that and as the app. is difficult to find for non power-users or those who like to know what's going on in their comp. people can waste Gigs of bandwidth uploading other people's installers >__>

That's the point, the non-technically savvy people get to feed those who are.
