how fast would this normally take? .__. (help plz T.T)
so im download a torrent file which has the whole first season of shugo chara (51 episodes) and the total file size is 8846 MB, aka about 8.8 GB.
...so i started downloading this file about 6 days ago... >.> ive kept my computer on every 2 days, restarted it quickly, and resume the download. ... so i know my internet is pathetic, but how much? because its taken 6 days staight(almost) and the download is only at 68% right now... =/ because when i was at my dads house in hawaii, it took anout 10 minutes to download 500 MB... DX its taking so long too... because once i download all the files ill have to convert them the wmv format so that i can use them in amvs T^T it takes so looonnnngggg btw the fastest its gone this whole download is about 35 kb/s Q_Q |
It really all depends on what the seeders are capable of uploading. You can have 400 seders, but if they've got their upstream throttled it'll take a long damn time.
|
I'm going to assume it's a fairly well seeded torrent, with about 30 or 40 seeds. You either have a very slow internet connection, or you do not have a port opened to allow torrent connections. The probability of anime seeders throttling bandwidth is usually not high.
What software do you use to torrent? |
Free Download Manager... x.x but when i use programs like BitTorrent, it goes slower.... :S
|
If your downloading a torrent you should use uTorrent. Free download.
And yea, it depends on how many seeders and leechers. If they're are way more leechers than seeders, it'd be slower. More seeders than leechers, it'd be faster. There's really no way to improve except get a better internet connection? xD |
Doesn't that depend on your Internet connection mostly?
My bf took like 2 weeks to download 2 gig of a series on ADSL.. I took 1 night to d/l the same 2 gig on cable... |
woot... 3% in 6 hours.... :cries:
|

Well it depends o.o on your speed D:
I take 20mins for 100MB. I take 2hours for 400+ But my internet always dc. D8 GL Cillia <3~ |
Generally speaking, a cable connection is faster than a wireless connection, especially if you are still on an A/B/G wireless network.
I know I can reach peak download speeds of 10 mb/s certain periods of the day at school, as I completed a 1.2 GB download with an ethernet cable connection in roughly 3 minutes. On wireless, with the router outside my door, my download speed drops to only peak at 1 mb/s. |
