Because everyone says that when they're a teenager. "I'll never be like my parents!" Then they have kids and think, "Well, maybe my parents had a point..."

Regardless, the kids have a point too. And both points should be taken equally into account.

Tell you what, once the kids are equally responsible for their actions with regards to the law and equally responsible for their costs of upkeep, then I'll equally take their point into consideration.
