To those who grind 24/7...
...why? Seriously, I'm super-curious as to why people feel the need to constantly grind grind grind all day long. Same to those people who play a game, grind 24/7, quit it, and immediatly find another game. Its like they are constantly playing games, nonstop.
I mean games are fun but some people are just -wow- consumed. Like I've had people go, omg you've been playign this for so long why aren't you levle 13940234832 yet?~! Hoy. Seriously, I'm interested in people's responses xD |
To me, when i start a new game, i grind because i want to:
1. explore the environment 2. find the goodies (weapons, gears, whatnot) 3. see what's to challenge (monsters, quests) 4. get the next spells, powers, skills, or whatever you get when you level up I gotta say that i don't go 24/7 but i do grind some days. Oh and when i think i've seen enough, I hope on the next train to the next game. Like i did with all the mmos i've played: UO, EQ, FFXI, WoW, FlyFF, and now the new flavor is Fiesta :) Now that's on a good 10 year span. |
I grind because im only lvl 15 an di want to geta higher level so that people will actually take me seriously when I say Im good at Fiesta
Just out of Curiosity, what lvl are you guys at ? |

I usually grind because I have a goal. I play a lot but I actually only grind about 2 hours a day. Other than that, I'm questing, helping someone, hunting for GGK, or just chilling in town.

I don't mean grinding in general, I mean people who sit there all of their time to grind, lol

A full time grinder probably has no full-time job, spouse, kids, etc plus games are fun. Instead of skiing or working on cars, maybe their hobby is video games?

I don't know how people can do it to be honest. I tried to straight grind for a couple hours over the weekend, but I just get so bored I can't stand it. It's one thing for me to play for hours while working on quests and/or in KQs, because even if I'm not cranking out the levels at maximum speed I still get some feeling of accomplishment.
I imagine once the quests dry up you kind of have to just grind out the levels if you want them, though. That's probably why I never make it to the big time in mmos I think. Just planting myself in a spot and killing the same things over and over forever isn't for me. I think a lot of people just get kind of obsessed with gaining those levels. I love to level too, but when it gets to where it takes days of effort just for a couple ticks on the xp bar it starts feeling more like work than fun to me. That's about when a game usually becomes more of an interactive, animated chatroom than an actual game for me. |
I agree, goofing off in game > levels XD

I stand around more than level.
Offtopic: Are those monster title things stuck at Goblin Mage? I noticed just now it never changed. |
