Ninja damage
 

I decided to start paying a paranoid amount of attention to my surroundings and my HP cuz many of the times I die, it seems unrealistic, and now it sounds like a bug.

This morning I was in Uruga, taking advantage of the double exp. I was standing there, when an Orc spawned. He hit me and did about 320ish damage, BUT I DIED. I had a cleric buff too, so I had about 1200 HP. It wasn't a crit, cuz theres the color difference in the font, and even with a crit, I should have lived. They do about 600-700 damage crit to me. I'm also sure I had full HP cuz I always make sure I'm at full health, so I can live if I do get hit ;p

So you think its some random bug? It happens to me a lot.

1. It probably is lag or a bug..
2. U sure it wasn't an orc hunter? ..
3. Its never happened to me........
4. Orcs don't have any special attacks/crits besides stun.
5. 2 orcs stacked onto each other due to the lack of a collision detection? >.>;;

It might have been. But still, nothing there has ever done more damage than my HP count.

Well, first off, I'm pretty sure mobs don't crit. At least, I've never seen a mob actually crit in all my experiences of soloing or being tank in duos/trios. What sometimes looks like crits are when mobs (like King Colls or Goblin Captains) have power hits. What seperates a power hit from a crit to me is that power hits are more consistant - they'll always start off with the power hit, and they'll always use it again in a pretty consistant time frame. Also, in the case of Colls, they have a pretty obvious animation showing that it's different from their normal attack. However, not every mob's power attack has this.

Anyway, in my experience of tanking such mobs, it happens a lot that the power hit and normal hit will come so close together, the power hit doesn't display. It's kinda of combination of lag and a graphics glitch. So yeah, I'll pretty often have a King Coll do 500 damage to me on their first hit, also I only see the number 200. I'd wager the same happened to you.

roflrofl jk jk XD *Headdesk* I've had that happen before at random though, with other monsters. Its...odd.

But I like the feel of the breeze on my skin!
