Wow, Fiesta is laggy.

Today, I played Fiesta with my nub, when I was moving around in Roumen, it became very laggy. I had to restart my computer...

I don't know if I could do the event, due to my computer is LAGGY. But, I'm uninstalling stuff, so, I hope that helps.

Come for the fun anyway~

It is laggy this weekend... i think it's due to the exp increase...

Ya its probably the event...Also do a Defrag for good measure.

As a hopeless techie, I'm compelled to post about this.

There are two kinds of lag you can experience — frame "lag", which is when your computer is not powerful enough to keep up with the processing demands of the program, and the actual speed at which new frames are displayed on your screen starts to dip. This usually happens in crowded towns and events, and it's usually because your RAM gets flooded with a crapload of players. To help alleviate this kind of slowdown, turn off "Character Outline" and shadows in the graphics options. If you're on a 64-bit OS, Character Outline is broken anyway.

The second, which is true lag by definition, is when the game server itself gets so swamped with network data from players that it saturates its outbound bandwidth. The end result is a delay in data packets getting through the tubes to your computer, resulting in lag. Skills refusing to fire, weird things, disconnects, etc.

Second one can't be helped. If it's an event, you're probably getting a little of both, but mostly just lag. :p

It's not really helpful if you're using the Windows utility, just because it's so time-consuming. A better solution would be to close other programs before opening Fiesta, to go easier on your CPU/RAM~

^ Edit button mister ><

Anyway I say it as a precaution. I defrag once a week, just to try to keep things running smoothly. I got close to six yr old PC so I just take out music and all graphics go down on Fiesta. except the fog of war distance when im training. Also hide in Eld and Roumen if you dont need shops or not in party

@Aegis: Technically, the second one can be helped... to an extent. Upgrading their servers and the like with better equipment would help reduce lag and such. Or opening new servers and getting players to migrate to them would help reduce lag a bit.

@Kirby: I would, besides doing perhaps a weekly (or monthly at latest) "defrag", look into getting a new video card and some more RAM. I know those two will greatly help you out when it comes to lag. Provided it's your fault and not Outspark's. I know for a fact that I need a new video card and once I get one, my lag will go down greatly. Not to mention, I can finally play certain games I've been dying to play. ~_~

I think he meant "cant be helped" on our part...

Defrag takes like HOURS for me.. is that normal? I don't Defrag often at all... If i do it more often would it finish faster?

A common cause of lag is plp not picking up drops, the more they accumulate on the ground the greater the lag.

I fail to understand why some plp just dont pick up their drops.

PPL* Firstly,

Secondly, I doubt a few drops on the ground is what makes the lag, Rather the map as a whole, makes the lag.

@Hessah: Yeah, I had assumed that much.

@Senyx: people*

@Silent Wizard: No. The items disappear quickly enough to where they won't cause much or any lag at all.
