Partitioning
Just asking in case someone might be in the know.
I'm going to be shortly reformatting my laptop and reinstalling Vista. Stupid Mass Storage Controller decided to disappear :hulksmash: Anyway, I noticed in previous installations that during setup it asked me to decide on a certain amount of GB, I'm assuming this is to decide how big it should make the partition that Vista would install into. My questions are *is the default Windows disk-management utility good enough for the task? Should I get some other software? *How big should I set the first partition? *Should I make more than two partitions? *After installing, should I immediately partition the disk and then install programs? Not quite sure how it works. Thanks for any reply. EDIT: going to sleep now. I'll just go ahead and format if I don't know better by morning. |
