X-Bow Vs. Bow in a battle of the Crits...
 

Ok, so obviously the crossbow pwns the bow in pure crit rate... but does the bow's attack speed even it out at all? i mean, yes, the x bow has a higher CHANCE of hitting a crit, but doesnt the bow get more chances? i havent done the math, but is it a plausible idea?

Take into account that the weapon doesn't affect skill-use. Using skills with X-bow does more damage with more chance to crit. without delay.

yes, X-Bows win while soloing and kiting, but what about when you're DDing a boss? you have no need to repeatedly cast natures mist or multi shot as fillers then.

I don't know how much time you spend killing bosses, but I think it'd have to be a significant amount to offset X-bow in most situations.


While I personally tried to use bow, I had to switch-up to X-bow for functionality. I found it had an edge in most situations (grinding, PvP, kiting, GWs etc.) and only pulled out the bow for a change of pace. Attack speed hardly counts as an "Edge" when you could crit tons more. Besides, The speed on the bow is pretty minimal based on the xbow speed.

when you're fighting a strong monster, the speed adds up...

yeah... if you're kiting or skill spamming, X-bows deffinitely win. if it's dding, or being a backup tank, then it's gotta be bows.

To make up for .3 sec diff Chain Cast Natures Speed. Been tanking in Dragon Trails and works like a charm.
