I built a DD.. but instead of a axe or 2h sword i use a 1h sword.. is this common? I realised with the higher def im not getting hit for nearly as much but I am also still hitting rather high...with my axe i can hit around 120dmg..on the same mob, with 1h i hit around 80.. and i pvp alot... and the 1h seems to work better for me...anyways.. anyone have any reasons this works?

my build right now is +30 str and +5 end... im only lvl 30

A DD is someone who looks to maximize damage. So using a 1-hand is pretty unusual for DDers, because Axes are really where you want to go for damage. Despite having a faster attack speed, 1-handers lose to Axes for damage because of the Axe's much higher damage and the fact that Fighter's can pretty much skill-spam their plethora of skills without waiting for animation.


If you want to do lots of damage when you're not being hit, use the Axe. Bring the 1-hand/shield when you're tanking.

I guessa bit of the DD tradition would come in if you had STR equips.
