For all those in the Boston area...
COME WATCH US DOMINATE! :D
WHAT: The largest robotics competition in Boston and the largest regional competition in FIRST history -- In 2008, over 7000 attendees watched more than 1000 high school students competing. WHEN: March 6th and 7th. WHERE: The Agganis Arena, Boston MA. This year, we (The Robo-Rebels, team 1153) are making appearances at the Boston Regional and the Philadelphia Regional in another 2 weeks. We did very well last year with the competitions, and we have high expectations for this year. The game changes every year, and this year the competition is... The video in the hyperlink will explain the details of the game. Meanwhile, I'd like to present to you our final robot, The Can. Our robot will scoop up the orbit balls through the spinning, pronged roller in the front. The balls are then transported to the top of the robot via a modified Archimedes screw design, using brushes. When they reach the top, a gate will open or close to release the balls into a spinning roller that can shoot balls into a trailer at a distance of 6 feet. So if you're in the area, come pay us a visit! (Oh, and if that's not enough, there's also a free showing of Blue Man Group.) |
