Release the lock on the pic by holding ALT and double clicking on the layer thats locked. This will allow it to actually delete things.

create a new file thing and put the size u want (for FF siggies its 500x350)

resize it by click CTRL+T and holding shift while dragging the corners to equally resize it.

select the brush and color you want

erase in the appropriate places so it won't look cut off and move it wherever you want.

go to image, adjustments, curves while the mikuru layer is selected

select red and drag it just a bit up to make the red in her bunny suit pop.

add some text

go to layer style for the text layer, hit stroke, drag it down to 1 px.
