Release the lock on the pic by holding ALT and double clicking on the layer thats locked. This will allow it to actually delete things.

since theres a solid background simply use the magic wand tool.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...o_Phreak/6.jpg

keep using the magic wand tool and lasso tool to cut it out since this pic is simple :O

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...o_Phreak/7.jpg

create a new file thing and put the size u want (for FF siggies its 500x350)

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...o_Phreak/8.jpg

paste it into the new file

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o...o_Phreak/9.jpg

resize it by click CTRL+T and holding shift while dragging the corners to equally resize it.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/11.jpg
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/12.jpg

select the brush and color you want

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/13.jpg

put it wherever you see it fits

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/14.jpg
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/15.jpg

erase in the appropriate places so it won't look cut off and move it wherever you want.

go to image, adjustments, curves while the mikuru layer is selected

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/17.jpg
http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/18.jpg

select red and drag it just a bit up to make the red in her bunny suit pop.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/19.jpg

add some text

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/20.jpg

go to layer style for the text layer, hit stroke, drag it down to 1 px.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/21.jpg

add/move text to where you think is right.

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/22.jpg

add some borders using the line tool

http://i383.photobucket.com/albums/o..._Phreak/23.jpg

I hope you learned something or got some ideas from this ^_^

Not the best tutorial... if you've never even opened Photoshop this isn't very good... this is more for people who know how some of the tools work but are still clueless.

Pretty good tutorial, covers some basic features and how-tos.

I found this link handy for the very very beginners of Photoshop, helped me get on my feet when I just started.
