I wonder what it says about me that they both sounded sarcastic. I guess it's because there's no way in hell a guy would say, "Well, how about we bring along your mother?" without being sarcastic..

I don't mind my mother inlaw so much but there is no way in hades i would want my father in law.

But yeah I thought it was sarcasm in both. Just more blatant in the second one.
