Use of wiki content in other wikis
Quote:
After a brief inspection, it is clear that there have been a lot of layout, styling, and data likeness to the content we have here. (It seems people like my green box, because it's always copied :cutielove:) My opinion is, that we let them extract information as they like. In return, I'll demand that on every page that contains extracted information/code, there is a linkback at the bottom in small print to the original source. This will not apply to images sourced from publicly available sources (eg. fiestaonline.co.kr). This will apply to other images, like monster locations and such. Please give some feedback if you're a regular contributor to the wiki. I have yet to respond. |
In my humble opinion (although I'm not what you might call a "regular contributor"), as long as we get credit and a link back to Fiesta Wiki, I'm okay with this.

I have no problem with it. I already had someone from the EU version contact me asking if they could use my 60-70 guide. I told them it was fine as long as proper credit was given. Same with us using information here. We make sure to give proper credit where it is deserved.

Yeah just credit back to our wiki is fine..
not that we're individually credited here anyway, so that's cool with me |
Yup what everyone else said.
Edit: Btw I edited out the email... just in case it's private or something D: |
Doesn't matter, the email was posted in Icy's talk page.
/blub  |
I just ask to have the link back be part of the bottom where we do the Also See part.
They can link to us via that and I would also ask that they do a link to us on their main page. We in turn would return this favor incase we do get visitors who are german visit our site. We can redirect them to a page they could understand better with a lot of the same information. I like the idea of helping each other out, I'm sure we will be giving more information then we take but we do have extra resources via this option. And also, the stuff we do is not credited to an individual so it is basically free knowledge anyway. |
