Does anybody know of...
...a good, free video encoder that converts nearly every format to nearly any format? While I'll mostly need it to convert videos to MP4 for my iPod, I'll need it for other stuff too. Also, I vaguely recall my cousin brother converting his videos to iPod format using iTunes itself. Can you do that? How?

I use Super ©. It converts to mp4 amongst many others.

Yeah I tried that out, but more often than not, the video lags behind the audio. The gap increases as the movie goes on.
