Was this fair?
So I logged onto Outsparks forums after I sold 2 Cash Shop gifts for 2.5 gold and noticed I had a PM. I clicked my inbox and noticed I had an infraction. At first I thought they gave me an infraction for that even though but technically they couldnt since I found a way around their rules since it technically says enhancing only not spark cash gifts.
But no it wasn't for that at all but something else. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...gviolation.jpg The picture in question is here http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d5...ewis_joke2.jpg At first you think its probably related to some gay porn or something and thats most likely what Logan thought it was but whoever reported me and Logan were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off. The real meaning behind that picture is from the 2008 Canadian Grand Prix. At the first round of pit stops Kimi Raikkonen had to wait at the end of the pitline since the pitlane lights were red. But as Lewis Hamilton finished refuelling and went out of the pitlane he didnt notice that Kimi Raikkonen and Robert Kubica were stopped at the end of the pitlane until it was too late and he went right into the back of Kimi Raikkonens car. Thus the joke in the picture there. So I can see where this picture might cause problems but at the same time if they knew the real meaning behind the picture it shouldnt have been deleted in the first place right? |
I don't have any problems with the picture, but then again, I'm in college and I hear a LOT worse every day.
But if it's sketchy enough that you need to explain it, then chances are, it was too sketchy for the Outspark forums. Basically: Quote:

People have always been over-offended. Unless you put a link on it, so when you click it it goes to the exact meaning of it, then no one will get it.
Ignorance will win, I finally understand that. There's just too much to beat. |
Without context, it looks like a gay escort service. I can see their point. Looks like they gave a warning and took the pic down. Seems a fairly reasonable response.

I'm not familiar with the sport this guy is from, so he doesn't register as any sort of celebrity. So, like I said, for someone without any context of that incident, this is what I see:
A well-built, well-groomed relatively young guy, probably European due to the shirt and phone number. "I'll ram you from behind (in the red light district)." Red light districts are traditionally areas of a town where prostitution is avaliable. Without any sort of context about the race (or the sport in general), it looks like an escort service from a seedy magazine. In context, it's still supposed to look like an escort service, but with the knowledge of the man and the incident, it's just taking the piss out of him a little bit by making him look like a male escort. |
i agree with hrae on this one. i guess if you wanted to put it back you could always try replying with what it really means and see waht they say
|
Yup seems fair. It's suggesting something that isnt appropriate for all ages.
|
yeah i guess when posting a sig make sure that anyone who doesnt know the details wont get offended by it =P
|
Oh okay, thanks Hrae, I wasn't aware of the red-light district thing.
