Hey!!!

kk, so those that know me well, know that my stepson plays high school football.

I went to get hubby and I some supper tonight and on the way home, I heard a song that made me sad.

My son's team made it to the playoffs again this year, but we lost out last week. I was mixed about that. Part of me was glad I no longer had to sit outside freezing my bum off, while another part of me was sad that football season was over.

This song made me realize that it was my first Friday in a long time that I was not at a football game. I was listening to it and looked over and saw my pompoms still sitting on my dashboard, and I got sad.

Ever been to a football game? That is a band classic, lol. And our band would really get into their music.

I kinda miss those days. I was one of those band people rocking out to that. Also, this was another classic we used a lot:

This one, too:

And our fight song:

We didn't use quite such a long drum intro, but you get the idea. We were on the smaller side, so we got to do a lot of interesting pieces of music instead of the huge band arrangements that are so boring.

Like...this:

Oh, that's nice. Very...pretty. Can we rock now?

Did you say rock? As in Rock and Roll?

Hraesvelg 11-15-2008 04:48 AM

Great song, but I don't think it would have sounded good in a horn arrangement, LOL. We did play this one if we won:

Classic and still one of my favorites..

Hraesvelg 11-15-2008 04:56 AM

Yeah, but you mix that up with a marching band and it comes out like this:

Spirit 11-15-2008 05:08 AM

Lol, was you even listening to the music?

Sometimes I walk in with the band kids as a "free ticket in". Rarely I'll have a mad jam session on the cow bell. Today was the last game of our season too. :P Well, not the school I go to. We don't have cheerleaders or football teams because the dean(s) thought they contributed to cliques (which they pretty obviously do in most cases, at least here.) But yeah, I still go to games for the school I was at last year, mostly to hang out with friends, since the team sucks.

Hraesvelg 11-15-2008 05:15 AM

I guess I worded it poorly. I meant to say "Take out Fleetwood Mac, and this is what you get"....since we didn't have Fleetwood Mac handy for our performances, LOL. It does leave a bit to be desired.

Spirit 11-15-2008 05:28 AM

LMAO, I meant, I figured it was really bad, but you didn't care cuz of the cheerleaders.
