First a hammer, and now a.... MACE????
my cleric is a lvl 56. my build is str & end (it was 1:1 but now it's more random.... i put more points into end, but i still do str every now and then - since i solo a lot).
since lvl 20, i've used a hammer. now at lvl 56 i'm thinking that when i turn lvl 60 i should use a mace. should i switch? the thing that's getting me is that i put 5 points into trip's damage. if i switch to the mace i'll have no extra points into bleed. what do you all think? |
Personally I like the bigger dmg in hammer and has always been 100% hammer supporter... (but i never got the trip or bleed skill...)
wat makes you want to switch to a mace? |
Mace is useless don't even bother. Just stick with a level 60 hammer and not a good idea to have a STR/END build if you solo alot.
You said you like to solo alot so get some stat reset scrolls and remove all your END points and put them into STR. To be honest I played a full END cleric up to Lv 79 and having any end into my build was kinda pointless since I liked to solo. |
For me I just use any weapon that I get my hands on... will be using a Hammer cause that's what my guildie is lending me. :d
And yup, if you're a solo person go full STR (maybe 25 SPR too but that's up to you). You're a cleric and you can heal yourself so END is virtually useless in terms of putting your free stats in. But it would definitely help to get END in your armour. :3 |
With pure STR clerics, DoT from maces > DoT from hammers.
Only problem I have with that is with my 24% crit, I end up doing more over time because those double dmg hits make up for the dmg done over time from the mace... |
^ so true =/
Best option at low lvls is Mostly END (little STR) = Hammer Mostly STR (little END) = Mace But its all personal preferance. |
"the thing that's getting me is that i put 5 points into trip's damage."
Hammer vs mace is a subject that gets beat to death here. If you do a search you will find lots of useful comments. I was carrying both hammer and mace for awhile and put 5 points into trips cooldown so as to match bleeds cooldown. I could then trip, switch to mace and bleed while trip was cooling. This was before I learned how useless both trip and bleed are as compaired to bash. IMHO trip should act like a stun and cause the beast to "stumble" thus missing the target (you). Bleed should due just that. When I am bleeding I am losing an amount of HP over time. |

I personally am switching to my blue mace when I reach lvl 70, it'll cost me alot though since I gotta buy all the mace mastery and bleed DX |

you can't really compare the game to reality if you really want to then fighter with a giant axe should 1hit ko cleave you in half archer 1hit ko headshot you mages will burn your a$$ off _________________ I used a hammer for lv20~30 and omg I was so bored with it its sooo slow D: I seriously fell asleep watching my cleric spin around and I like the lv40 mace lv50 not so much though |
I switched to mace at 50 because I compared at 49. At 49 I had a +5 mace and a +9 hammer. I figured I would be able to do the same or more damage with a mace. Considering hammer speed is slow and the CD for Trip is forever. When I switched I noticed I was killing things faster. IDK maybe it was just me but that's what I noticed. And the ability to use Bleed twice in 1 Trip CD was worth it to me considering they offered the same damage. Mind you I hadn't put any points into to Trip. You may probably equal out the same but my benefit is I haven't put points into Trip/B;eed so I can pump my Bleed up. (For the record I already maxed Bash.)
