I know you can buy stuff with Fame, but other than that, is Fame used for anything else? And is questing the only way to get Fame?

Yes, Fame is only used to buy stuff from that merchant in Elderine (as far as I know) and yes the only way to get fame is from quests.

I have heard rumors that having high ammounts of fame (1000+) can lower some prices in shops.

I have 1400 fame and I can tell you that isn't true. That's absurd. Tell me who told you that. Dyna-backhand coming there way.

fame is used to buy those scrolls, thats about it.

fame can be obtained other than quests. levelling gives small amounts of fame, as do acquiring some new titles, but they give minimal amounts.

I also have a sneaking suspicion that quest titles (rookie quester, etc.) are obtained by accruing a certain amount of fame.

Nope. I have almost 2,000 fame, and stuff is still the same ^^
