o_O Have fun! Avoid rush hours on trains. You'll never get out if you're not pushy. And err... prepare to gain a couple pounds cause the food is just too good to pass up.

I went to Japan with my Canadian passport... had no problems getting in. I thought visas were only for those who were studying or working. .__.

This is the first time i've organised an overseas trip by myself so I just wanna double check to make sure LOL!! Dont think i need a visa unless its for more than 3 months...

Yeah i'm looking forward to food *O* apparently seafood is cheaper than meat over there XD I'm gonna gain a couple of pounds.. but my wallet will lose a few LOL!

Apparently I need a JR-Pass too... do u know if we could travel practically everywhere with that? i wonder if we still have to pay more for other types of trains.... -still trying to understand how japaneses public transport system works-

It looks like you do not, but to be safe, maybe call someone on this page:

Embassies, Consulates, Permanent Missions Overseas

ooo I know a good youtuber who can help with any issues with going to Japan =D go to youtube and look up tokyocooney, he has links and videos and FAQ about foreigners going to Japan.

JR Pass will make it easier, I believe, if you're going to be travelling alot within Japan. It'll be good cause you can pretty much go anywhere by foot/train. And a lot of train stations, last time I went, had some English under the names too.

I still don't understand why people are so obsessed with Japan. Its the country of anime. Oh crap I think I answered my own question.:err:

When I go overseas I'm going to Stockholm, Moscow, Warsaw, Budapest and maybe Istanbul. Personally I'd avoid going to Japan full stop now (Used to love Japan but not now) but everyone likes different places mine just happens to be Europe :D

Good luck on your trip though.

PS: You've given me motivation to start saving money faster for my trip xD.

I think you're silly to think people go to Japan only for anime. O__o Not saying this only cause it's my home country either.

Btw Hessah, you should go to Nara. They have wild deer roaming the town/city... and you can get these things called Nara Senbei that you can feed them with. I haven't been there myself but it'd be a nice experience. And... the aquariums and amusements parks are nice too! Man, I wanna go to Japan... last I went was for a business trip so not much time to have "fun".
