Life tap life tap... I'LL STEAK TAP YOU SOON.
 

I haven't partied with a mage that uses life tap continously for ages, but let me tell you, I certainly did not miss the experience.

Today in MD KQ, I had partied a mage who continously used it. At first, I (and possibly the second awesome cleric in my party) kept getting heart attacks when his life suddenly went down. Then we started to realise he kept life tapping. I soon decided to stop healing him straight away. I would take my time to heal him, though the second cleric was still nice and kept healing him.

Towards the end though, both of us were reluctant to heal him to the point where he life tapped until he had only about 100-200 HP left, where both my cleric and I were pushed to heal him.

However, none of us said anything throughout the whole KQ. The cleric and I didn't ask him to stop, but he didn't whine about us taking our time to heal either. He wasn't a crappy mage or anything, he was doing his bit in terms of damages.

BUT GAH! Stop with the life tap! Why do we clerics have to use up all our sp stones just so you can get your SP back without stoning! We use our SP stones to heal you so you can save your HP stones, so use your SP stones to get your own SP!!!! :hulksmash::hulksmash::hulksmash:

I refrained from saying anything because I didn't feel like starting up an argument and things.. but mehh! I thought Life Tap shouldn't be "abused" (to put it dramatically) for your own selfish needs in the expense of others... =.="

Well personally I don't care if Mages Life Tap. Mages burn SP far faster than clerics and clerics have a far higher SP stones than Mages.

Life Tap is good for Mages in AOEing parties because they don't have to restone as fast. By using Life Tap inbetween pulls while the tank pulls the mobs.

i know they're annoying! the worst part is... life tap only restores a tiny bit of SP, while it takes a big chunk out of HP out of them..

seriously... i reckon the SP they restore = the SP we use to heal them...

if they get MORE then maybe its worth it... no it regens their SP by only a small-who-cares amount...

and we use enough SP as it is in MD.... I remember the days where i spend 40+SP stone per KQ... buff and revive often drains the SP sooooo quickly...

Use Restore and not Heal. The Mage should hopefully get the idea the fighter in your party has higher priority it also prevents a quick re use of life tap.

I just let them die.. then revive them later

If I was a Cleric I'd do what Hessah said. xD

Just to be fair, our party wasn't losing health, so he wasn't using life tap when our party was dying (not that I have noticed) but both me and my cleric were busy healing the main tank (who's an archer, so we had to keep an eye on it) and revving the failure fighters who runs up to get KO'ed by the dragon.. Dx

But yea, it's still annoying. Dx And I did restore a couple of times, but I gave up in the end because of my lag. Restore seems to take longer for me to cast because of my lag.

Maybe if I wasn't so laggy, I wouldn't have minded so much.

For me, I do life taps in KQs but not too much, and I wouldn't mind stopping if the cleric tells me to... So far, I haven't gotten any complaints :zip:
