Win Movie Maker is driving me crazy

It's been working great to convert my game videos, but any...ANT editing I try to do won't translate properly, when I go to convert it.

Even simple adding different scenes together(with no effects) will sometimes freeze. So I end up with a nice video of one frame.

What do I dooooo?

Same thing happened to me many times when I was making my English project, the easiest thing is just to save every so often~

I found a loooong way around but I think it degrades the video a bit, and takes a lot longer.

I pre-convert each seperate clip from an .avi into .wmv, then add the .wmv files together with all the effects, transitions, etc...

But man, it's more work:P

The only thing I did was take still .jpg, add musik, titles overlay, and that's it Dx

It still failed for mee~

I had to do a documentary with WMM once. If I remember correctly, WMM doesn't play well with other file types.

Freeze in the video, or freeze the program?

If it's freeze the program, I think it's got something to do with codecs. I've had a random-program-freezing issue before, and google'd it, and I found this solution where I had to choose different settings for some codecs. It fixed it too. But I don't remember which settings or what codecs...

it goes through the conversion process, and I get a video. But it's in the resulting video that it freezes(the clock still ticks) just it like hangs on a random frame and stays there for the duration of the video.

Then I'm not sure. Tried googling for answers? o: Is it the most updated version?

yeah, I dunno, right now I'm not in the mood to mess with it. I've spent hours already today. But at least I got my work around, for this video-this time.

It's the newest version.

I would look for another program. Studio 10 works fine for me.
