So, what exactly is a guild, and what are the benefits of joining one?

Just shout asking for a guild and you'll get one.

Not many benefits... Just fun?

guild is just like... a group / clan / gang.....

You get a guild chat channel to talk to your guildies...

You can guild war other guilds.... (but at the moment no scores are kept, so u dont get anything or lose anything if u win or lose)

Some people make guild just to have a green name on their name... or to gather their frds together to talk.. or to meet new frds... or just as an icon....

I wasn't sure if there were any special guild quests or things like that.

I find it more of a social thing rather than a warring thing (although we do have wars.. had 4 guilds war us at once the other day.. that was.. ahem.. fun >.>). It's just great to get to know people, and you can get / recieve help from people who are please to give / recieve it rather than 'plvl me' 'buff' etc. from randommers.
