Can anyone guide?

My lil' Dark is a nuker and I'm unfamiliar with most of mages' skills thou there are tons of em. Would it be okay for anyone to guide me with skill empowerment?

Basic empowerment, max cooldown on Magic missile... then I went with max power on fire bolt ( I know its not as helpful as the guide but still D; )
