Bugs in my rice, was amusing...
A few weeks ago, we bought a new bag of rice. When we used it for the first time, I noticed some black things floating around when I was washing it. I thought, "What are these? Did they come from the rice? Huh... Oh well, I'll just remove them." So I would removed any I saw and continue washing the rice, la la la, cook it, eat it.
Each time, I would would remove them so today I was looking at the rice before washing it, thinking, "Oy, I wish this black things would just go away, I'm tired of removing them." And then I thought I saw one move so I picked it up and realize it was a bug... And that they were all bugs. So I stood wonder if I should continue with it or not. I left that up to my dad to decide. Anyways... Yeah... Kinda funny... But at the same time, creepy. |
Eat the bugs I hear they taste nice

Lot's of protein...
But seriously that's gross... D: |
Ewwww.
Those things in your Raisin Bran... Yeah, they're not raisins. O_O |
Meal bugs is the most common name for them or grain weevils. They are actually harmless and add protien to your rice, as gross as that sounds. One way to keep them out, is to keep your rice in the fridge. They will not invade it if it is kept in the cold. If they came like that from the store, then they will go dormant in the fridge and it will make them easier to wash off.

So does that mean my Rice Bubbles are really maggots?:zomg:
|
Not maggots. Maggots are baby flies. These bugs only eat grain and flour. Flies eat anything including their own puke. :zomg::uhoh:
