[Outspark] About The European IP-block

Quote:

Greetings Fiesta players,

We would like to inform our European friends that a local version of Fiesta will soon be available in your area. Gamigo AG now holds the European publishing rights for Fiesta in countries including Germany, France and Spain. Outspark can no longer provide support for Fiesta players with IP addresses in these areas.

We encourage those who reside in those areas to visit http://fiesta.gamigo.com for more information about Fiesta in your part of the world.

Please be aware that this announcement does not pertain to any of our other games. Should you wish to enjoy Secret of the Solstice, Bread 'n Butter or Project Powder, we encourage you to do so! Please direct any additional questions to support@outspark.com.

Best Regards,

-The Outspark Team

Ok, so are those the only countries or is it like definetly just the continent?

Like what about the people in England and Britain will they still be able to play on outsparks fiesta?

And lastly, when they redownload the info from that fiesta will they have to restart their characters from lvl 1?:uhoh:

They appear to have reverted their decision for now:

Hi everyone,

I'm passing you the information as I get it and forgive me if I can't keep up with the thread pages to respond to individual messages.

As of right now: I was just told that NOBODY is being blocked. We removed the IP Block.

Next: We will be working with Gamingo on some kind of transition plan.

I am not sure when that will happen.

That's all I have for now.

Thanks.

We've been discussing this issue with our community in various threads. You asked for this sticky and here it is:

This is the place to follow any news regarding our announcement for Fiesta European players on our service. I will try to summarize what has taken place so far and we will add more news as they become available.

-On Monday 6/30: We announced that a local version of Fiesta will be available in Europe starting with Germany, France and Spain and we blocked German IPs. The community reacted and asked for a better solution and advance notice.

-On Tuesday 7/1: We responded to the community by removing the German IP Block and apologized to our German players. We also announced that we are working on a better solution including a transition plan with Gamingo.
We also made sure we give you advance notice in the future on upcoming IP Blocks.

-On Wednesday 7/2: We continue to engage and respond to our community in various threads on the forum.

What is the latest as of Thursday 7/3?

We are in the middle of negotiations with Gamingo an a solution that will hopefully resolve this issue where the results are favorable to the players, a goal we are putting at the top of our list.

We ask for your patience until we reach a solution.

Thank you.

Damn. They need to know that they are in control. They don't have to appologize, they're doing their job. >_>

Belaslav 07-05-2008 08:11 PM

True, but it's appealing to the players, isn't it?
