Same sex marriage isn't allowed here....

But I thought we're meant to move towards being more open and give everyone the same rights and freedom...

I cant believe a state wants to go backwards!

The thing is, California is one of the most liberal states in the country.

A few states have allowed union of two people of the same sex under "Civil Unions and Partnerships" but did not and could not recognise their marriage because of John Howard's iron-steel attitude (for example, he threatened to overturn the ACT's decision to allow same-sex marriage when he was in office). Rudd is also the same as Howard in this issue.

We won't see any major changes, I think, very soon.
