It depends what kind of a mage you want...

The most popular build is full INT or 25SPR:RestINT build. Some also mix some END or DEX in their build but I personally don't find them worth spending stat points on for mages. You could compensate for those stats in gears if you want to.

I agree with you INT for M. damge and 25 SPR for 5% critical & spirit, is the best build for mages
