Mages could potentially be good at PVP...

But you need to have the right build/skills/armour for it...

I personally think that the builds for PVE and PVP mage are very different...

And the fact that he took you by surprised probably didn't help..

As a mage our advantage is to keep our distance, compare to a fighter...

This guy is pretty detailed about PVP mage...

Mages dominate PVP, though that happens as you go higher (level-wise). I mean like, you're shit against all other classes at 2x, you'd dominate at 7x and again at 10x. Something like that. But then again, it would take skill for Mages to dominate in PVP. I mean really, unlike Fighters where you'd be alright by just mashing your face on the keyboard.

No matter how good your gears/build/empowerment stats are, you'll always need skill in order to be successful.

In general, the best character for PVP is mage(if you got the right build and equip). No you don't stink, nobody is bad as long as they try to get the hang of it. At least have the right build. For Example like INT DEX and maybe SPR based on what you decide your mage to be. Well yeah you lost because that fighter's got nice equips, perfect build and since hes all that good he probably did use charms. So what I would suggest for you is to not to look at it in the way that you "suck" but in they way that you got to get better at this. For example see if you have right skills upgraded and perfect build. I've got a friend 92 Enchanter. Shes pretty good I can say which build is the best for mages based on what she knows. And shes very close. For the equips... yeah make them match your build as much as possible. And yeah not everything's easy.
So if you got a fighter all +9 equips and good build, and mage samelvl all +9 good build and equips and skills lvled properly, id say mage would win. I think many would agree. It's just my own opinion,
Hope I encouraged you.
Good luck.

Also, you can't increase m.def through armour enhancements, so that's a plus side.

I didn't really read all the posts here but,
Mages can be very good at pvp. :]

Actually, when it gets down to it at higher levels, Mages > Fighters. xD
Mostly all it takes is a +9 to take one down along with a bit of Int.

But no, Mages don't stink at PvP. They own pretty hardcore if you know what you're doing. [:

I mean, hell. I kicked major boo-tay in Cypion on my mage. Made her pure Int and people wouldn't dare come into abyss when she was there. xD

At least when it was early there. Hehe. Now I get owned but, I don't really try anymore. ;P

Thanks for the advice guys. I've got 2 more questions though. first of all whats the diffrence from PVP and PVE i've been wondering this for a long time and how do i get the money as a squishy mage to afford +9 gear because we cant farm unless we get a pt and usually it splits the money so low its not even worth your time. Sometimes i use my 43 fighter and farm ZK but he doesnt drop to much. Thanks for your help and try to get back to me as soon as possible

i play in TEVA so if you want to answer me whisper me at abysmal_mage
no capitals im usually on but sometimes i like to take little breaks from the insane people playing this game thanks for you support bye.

PVP = Player vs Players - where you attack other people that's playing.

PVE = Player vs Environment - where you attack those monsters that's in game.

In fiesta, people are always much harder to kill than monsters keke so your skills to kill Player or Monsters would be different.

To make money, productions skills (making scrolls / potions / stones) are usually a good steady way of earning money.

Or at least know what materials are in high demand and sell them to shops at a reasonable market price, and not NPC those materials...

Crimson Cloud 10-06-2009 01:27 AM

Don't know if this will help but since you can't farm try starting off by getting Stone Materials/Pot Paterials/Scroll Materials, then produce stones or scrolls or pots and sell them. Or you ca do sell-buy business. Start off by buying things like 300s and sell them for 400s or +/- and then as you get more money you can get better things but it usually takes quite a while. Everyone is indigent when they start off but don't worry you just have to be very diligent and soon you will get lots of things. Hope this helped:uhoh:
