Life Tap Should Be Reversed

Ok, many players may not agree with this, but I do not see the usefulness of the Life Tap spell at all, even with a cleric around. As a mage, even with all the high level SP spells, I never run out of SP stones in a given quest, grind session, or KQ, and even in the rare case that I do, I have about 100 or so T3 SP Potions (Currently Overstocked LMFAO). I think that this would be the ultimate spell for a mage to have if you could use you magic power to heal yourself like I've seen in other games among magic classed characters. Come on OutSpark!

I mean, you could balance it with a significant cooldown time to keep people from spamming it, and entirely relying on it like they wannabe clerics or something. I just don't find it very helpful, and dangerous, as I'm at the point now where I have huge monster fanclub following and don't need to lose additional HP.

Some will also say that it speeds up the grinding but not really in my opinion. If you around my level or so, you have about 80+ SP Stones, plus whatever potions you have on hand, not to mention the fact that you can be also be cheap and shroom in between mob respawns. I have rarely seen a player use up all of his/her stones in an abyss party, and by the time that happens the drop inventory is full and we need to restock anyway (unless you got the full backpack). I just think it's a stupid spell, and we (as mages) need something to keep us alive for a few seconds while we are trying to survive certain blows between potions and stones cooldowns:

Fighters have defense.
Clerics can heal.
Archers have....bows and arrows lol (don't hate I LOVE archers)

archer have nothing just like you :)

I kind of like that because I'm SO annoyed with mages abusing it when I'm playing as a cleric with them. I partied with FOUR other mages in another KQ the other day and THREE of them abused life tap. Really annoying because I can't tell when they're life tapping or they suddenly got hit by a bunch of mobs. /sigh Life tapping abusers make me rage all the time.

But of course, like you said, it'll have to be somehow balanced.. probably a big CD on it.. though I've never been into those balancing class things so I wouldn't know... but if it stops me from healing life tappers, then I'm for it :love:

Then just don't use it... you just said you have more than enough SP stones and/or pots to recover. If one is worried about HP then carry pots or always have a cleric around. Other games have mages that can use healing powers but this is Fiesta.

I hate lifetap. Yes, SP stones should be enough as it is. I also have 200 SP poions taking up inventory space. >_>

I wouldn't want to give my cleric a heart attack, would I? :P

I recommend this: How about an archer spell that AOE's the enemy, and half of the damage it creates over time is added back to the Archer's HP/SP? I say half so it will be significant but not ridiculous. Haha, I knew someone would bring that up! :zomg:

I don't even have the skill on my mage, actually. Money saved!

As they have it now its such a useless spell.

I bought it because I thought the animation was pretty cool. Now that they've changed it... ugh.

I would... especially if their name is Blahs. :D

Perhaps in later levels (120+) you'll get something you've been looking for... Fighters do have that Vampiric Strike afterall (which isn't exactly enough to even heal half the hit you get...)
