Refining/Tempering 101

Refining a weapon is simply upgrading it by adding extra damage, and adding cool looking affect to it. But refining doesn't just stop there, it can also be done to armor to increase the defence they give you, but they won't have any extra apperance effects

The things needed for a Weapon Refine are:
-A Weapon/Armor
-Elrue/Lix/Xir

Things to know first:
-Weapons and armors have tiers. Tiers are item classes, and you must use a Elrue/Lix/Xir that is the same tier as the item you want to refine.
-Elrue/Lix/Xir are items that are used to upgrade weapons and armors.
-Elrue upgrades from the +1~+3 range, Lix from the +4~+6 range, and the Xir from the +7~+9 range.
-Aside from different tiers of items, the Elrue/Lix/Xir all have different types, which are Normal(green), Blessed(purple), and Lucky(blue).
-The different types affect your chance for success, Normal +0, Blessed +1, Lucky +2.

To refine something you must go to a Weapons Smith. After you find one, talk to him and click the "Refine Weapon" button. Another window will open with many boxes inside it. The center box is for the weapon or armor you wish to refine. The other 8 boxes around it are for the Elrue/Lix/Xir to go in. The lower 3 boxes have an unknown perpose at this time.

The process of refining is simple, and requires nothing more then luck. You pick one of the 8 boxes for the Elrue/Lix/Xir and drag and drop it in. Then you click the bottom on the lower left bottom of the refine windom to start the process. The refining is sucessful if the spining star lands on the box, oppisite to the box you put your Elrue/Lix/Xir in. If it doesn't land there, then 1 of 3 things will happen. Your item will remain the same, your item will decrease a level of refinement, or your item might get destroyed. This is all you need to know about refining.

Blessed and Lucky have the same success rates.

noooooooooo xD! they dont =P trust me. them game makers never make the same stuff n lucky > blessed > normal. a old beta guide from the 2005 chinese one told me n a wiki from bright said the same thing

i'm pretty sure they're the same.

For a Fighter Quest "The Mighty Skill", the selective rewards are Blessed Elrue and Lucky Elrue. Notice how other selective awards are all equal ? Ex: return scroll to Elderine and Return Scroll to Ruomen are selective rewards for several quests. So therefore, Lucky Elrue = Blessed Elrue

BTW ppl what's the difference between the two?

well in the Bright Kindom Online ...orignal. ppl say the value is blessed= +1, lucky = +2. so ya...but anyways Green < Blessed/LUcky. AND IMO! Bless < Lucky. notice y lucky sells for more then a blessed. 14s for a xir lucky, and 4s for a xir blessed. npcs

Still no real proof that Lucky > Blessed. Rumours / Market Price do not count as evidence that Lucky > Blessed.

probably just an assumption but...maybe one has a higher success rate but then the other have a safer fail rate (such as nothing happens to your item if it fails)
blessed could mean, a blessed stone that will not let your weapon go lower lvl or be destroyed
while a lucky might just mean more success rate

well i am pretty sure this is the difference ;O

Lucky is +2 chance of success... Blessed is +1 but has the chance of upgrading your weapon more than one step at a time.

magicrnotfren 11-06-2007 03:39 AM

isnt it the opposite? lucky is +1 but chance of 2 steps and blessed is +2?
