I just spent 10 minutes on the official forums to check out the 4 responses to the story-thread I made there....

Jebus, some of the things you can find. There's the few idiots who insist that Fear was better the way it was pre-patch and spam this into random threads they wander into or divert the threads so it turns into one. This is compounded by the fact that the overwhelming majority of those decrying the fixed Fear are obvious Mage-Mains who insist they aren't....I mean god,you have a sig-picture of you playing your Mage character, with a Mage ava and the title of Powerful Enchanter in your sig in big, red size 5 letters, geez.


Then there's the spam everywhere you see. There's threads in General Discussions with 500+ replys of pure spam, it comes up anywhere and everywhere. There's the people who don't read the posts in the thread right above theirs so they end up saying the same thing in almost the same words, duplicate threads everywhere, bumping a thread like 10 minutes after it's made, the list goes on and on and on....


Hat's off to the competent CLs who stave off this tide of neverending darkness, best of luck to you guys. Oh, and kudos to the sane people on there too, you guys are great.

Jebus is right. Wow. I really wonder how some people there can function, given how much brain power they seem to use...

I don't understand about the Fear bug, since I don't have a 6x mage. Care to explain what it was?

Ever get "feared" by Robo or the Mini-dragon?

It is the same thing. Fear is suppsoed to make your opponent run around all crazy-like and they have no control over where they run to. It was bugged. When we would use fear, it was basically like stunning them. They just stood there looking at us. It was also bugged for mobs. When Robo or MD would fear us, we would jsut stand there. Now, it is back how it is suppsoed to be. When mages fear an opponent, they run around. When Robo, ghosts, MD, ect. fear players, they run around.

I think the problem comes from, when it was bugged, we just stood there. No problem, hit stones and pots until it went away. Now, players run around and possible into other mobs, picking up the agro. <---- what it is supposed to do. But, people do not like that fact.

Oh. By lvra's post it sounded like the mages were mad about it... Which (to me) doesn't make any sense... Wouldn't they want the opponent to run around randomly?

I thought the cooldown was messed up?

You should only go on the official forums if you want to read about how certain players love to go on about their daily routine, the people they've met, how they feel about things, and the like.

Seriously.

You can also receive the same radio broadcast by staying in Uruga, Elderine, or another map frequented by talkative semi-spammers who cannot communicate with anyone via any form of chat other than shout.

My block list was quite long by blocking all the "popular" people. I suppose maybe that's why people think I don't ever respond.

This made me LOL.

I think one problem that couldn't really be fixed was when Outspark first had those forum boards, they had no moderators so everything just became a MESS. When they got the new one, I can't remember if they sorted threads into the right category... but I don't think they did because I assume that they didn't have the time to do it since the game issues > forum back then.

And when you see a whole bunch of threads NOT in the right category... lots of people just follow. And that just somehow.. changed into some kinda habit I suppose? I reckon that if they wiped the threads and start from all over, it will be a bit more tidied up.

Then again, it's a BIG forum and there's LOTS of people. Really hard to control all those that don't like to follow forum rules.

One thing that really sucks is the Search function though. I wish they would enable the search function for us. I've tried searching before but it just logs me out. :angry: I think that might answer why there's so many duplicate threads, because honestly, I wouldn't bother looking through soo many pages of threads (where a lot of them are just "junk" threads) to look for that one tiny thing I want to ask for if I can't use the Search function.

But I'm not sure if they disabled it on purpose for some reason.

It does get bad. I hate it when the servers are down for maintenance.

oh another thing, blatant sig-stealing. I swear I saw a thread in which one guy was asking for feedback on 'his new sig' The guy who originally made it came in and demanded he stfu. Seriously.


Oh and the Fear thing. The way it was bugged was that Fear essentially became a ranged-Stun instead of the ranged run about randomly command. While it was a Stun, Mages could cakewalk most about everyone in PvP if they did it right. Standing still left you vulnerable to the maelstrom of Inferno and Frost Nova which you could no longer run out of. Almost guaranteed win for Mages. After the patch, they fixed the fear bug. Bugged Fear is immensely better for PvP (for Mages) because it maxes the damage potential for Inferno and Frost Nova. Fixed Fear is better for general grind since it gives you more breathing-room.
