How You Came Up With Your Character's Name
 

I more like the more fanciful names that look like they'd come out of a Fantasy/Sci-Fi World, but anything is fine.

For my characters. Hananna: I wanted to use "Hanabi" (after Hanabi from Sakura Wars 3, plus she, herself is an archer) but that was taken. After a few variants I settled on the above (a combo of the names Hannah and Anna).

Sarae: A fighter (also on the Apoline server), and I actually like her name better. It's more creative (for me) and plus, no one had already taken it.

Ostyr: This character no longer exsits (This was when I was still trying out the game) He was either a Cleric or Mage and his name was a recycled one. From the PC game FATE (it was the name I always used for the dog/pet ).

I wanted to also name (any) character Hikaru (named after one from a SW fanfic I have about a 4th fighting troupe set in early 1930's London. I kinda have an obsession with Sakura Wars), but as I found out through the forums, that also was obviously taken.

I came up with my name mostly because I find 'epic' or 'classic' names the coolest.

My main's name, Aleese, came from the stupid pronunciation of Alice in French, my name in French class. :C

My archer Victoire's name came from Harry Potter, lol. I also really like French names.

And my mage, Kaidela's, name came from... I have no idea. o.O

My original name "ThievingSix" is one I have used for many games and online operations for years. The name came from when I first got the original xbox and went live. I didn't know a name and the xbox live generated a name for me. Simple as that.

'Thelandri' is a variation of a mythical name.
Solonor Thelandria is the Chaotic Good elven god of archery and the hunt.

I find that really cool for some reason. ^^ Probly cause I love that name though :$

It reminds me of someone.

My name first Fiesta character name is "Superalim" but deleted because the stat is messed. I use the name "Superalim" in many MMPOG those years, i notice there someone i doesn't even know using that name!!! The name is first used in the website "Neopet" when i am age of 9 or 10 or even younger... (I like to play "Cheat" at that website) The name should be "Superlim" but i accidentally added a "a" in between somehow and it become "Superalim". The "Super" infront of the name doesn't really have a meaning, that time i am still young can't think of a good word. The "lim" behind is my sir name, and so my name is "Lim ___ ___". Some of my online friends called me "alim".

I had to make a name ASAP to test out the game, and in my weird little reality the sword looked like a flyswatter. Hence the name "FlyAnnihilator".

Then OB came... Well, I wanted the title. •_•

Gamiya- main. used this in most of my battle healer types. its an anagram of Yagami, as in Iori Yagami from KOF.

Mystran- secondary mage. name was taken from the name Mystra, who is the mythical goddess in the Forgotten Realms (D&D). the Mistress of Magic and Mother of Mysteries who guides the Weave of magic that envelopes the world.

BelegStrongbow- archer decomp. name taken from tolkein's book Silmarillion.

ElrueKeeper-fighter. name is the job description.

i came up with mine by looking in a cake book and turned to a random page and found fudge XD

Kinda nerdy, but I looked up my IRL name in an "elvish names translation" guide I found on the web to get Eruantien.

I have an alt, Lalaithion, which is the elvish translation of the word "Laughter" or the name "Issac"

I spends ages thinking of names! It's a bit stupid really.

My cleric, Ginchiyo, I named her after the daughter of a Japanese daimyo, Tachibana Ginchiyo, back in the Sengoku period.

With Sylfia, her name just struck me as something magish. I'd heard it before, though I can't remember where, and so I used it for my mage.

Enishi is actually the name of a male character in Rurouni Kenshin. However, after reading through the Jinchu arc of the manga I figured his name was cool and used it for my girl. I just shorten it to Eni most of the time. :]

My favorite names :D So...names I wish were mine at some point XD

About time I posted.

Well mine is completely original since I just... Made it up o.o and I don't know how but one day after church we had a family dinner and on the way, in the car [it was 10/03/07, the day after I knew about the game, and the day before I started playing] I was like so silent and thinking about a really nice name... I wanted something that started with S and had n, d, r and e. Took me 20 minutes then when we reached the Japanese restaurant I grabbed a menu then saw something Ser-[I can't remember the name of the food, just the first 3 letters XD] then I was like... Sera... Seri... I was mumbling em and Angel was like "wtf you crazy?" then ended up Sero... Then it became Serodin for some reason, IDK my Chinese name in Fookien [or w/e the Chinese dialect is called] had "din". There, I was satisfied with Serodin, wanted a second name, thought of Silver but changed the I and L. SerodinSliver.

Aryia ~ the name of a elf in Eragon though she spelt it as Arya, but that was taken when i first started the game. So now im used to the "i" in the name and like it better tht way =p

Mads ~ its my nickname from Madison

Sorena ~ hmm i have no idea, just thought of it i guess ^^

Keaira used to be one of my rp characters. She was kinda tomboyish and loved to hang out with Sora (it was a KH rp) and do stuff she shouldn't really be doing (not that bad). I found it on a babynames websites. I wanted a name with a K, clicked it, filtered guy names out and ended up loving it, though I am still not sure how to pronounce it =]

Hija was another one of my rp characters and taken from the same baby name site, but this time I simply searched for a name with the meaning 'daughter'. This cause of the characters history, which isn't a very happy one. Now I get randomly whispered by Spanish people asking me if I speak Spanish (no I don't).

YamiKeaira/YamiHija: My other names with Yami put in front of it and that came from the Yu-Gi-Oh show which I was a little obsessed with at the moment of the character creation (never regretted it though).

Vivi: Final Fantasy IX, need I say more?

I came up with my name because the nickname i got given O_o and the moves i use often have shadows on them so it's cool 8-)

My character's name is CrayZTrain from the song "Crazy Train"

I wanted something original, something no one would have, and something not cliche....

So I randomly thought of flowersss :laugh:

I love Ozzy. And that is one of my favorite songs by him.

AikenRae is uhhh... FOr one it's NOT my name, it's a clinical instructor's name. I was so amazed by him and his skills....and his demure smile...and his petite stature...and his cool, silent ways...and his lips...and...and...I can go on but I'll spare you people. Oh yeah, he is NOT straight.

So when I played Fiesta, I noticed that female archers laugh the way he does. But Aiken Rey will not do for a femme archer, thus AikenRae^-^

Claymore - because it's a fighter, etc etc.
Intuition - my mage is full INT, I wanted a name starting with "Int".
Eclipse - my archer, created on a night when a lunar eclipse was supposed to occur. (Surprised it wasn't already taken, haha.)
Luminescence - emission of light; light and cleric, you do the math.

Now I'm starting to use Latin in my character names because I like the sound of some.

Kawaiinekochan.... (cleric) from my days of playing RO....Ragnarok Online, but kawaii for those of you who are japanese inept is cute and neko is cat and chan is a suffix for a girl
Koyagichan... is taking korean class and koyagi means cat and well is japanese so i added the chan; archer
Nekokun.... mage well neko again is cat and kun is suffix for boys
Slice_Dice..... it was a pretty skill XD so i had to make a chara named after it :)

Neko_shot, Neko_Magic, Neko_Tank, Neko_heal.... i like kitties need i say more :P
