Screenshot Contest?

I was wondering if people would be interested in having a screenshot contest? I know there's quite a few photographers here in FF and thought it'd be interesting to have a little contest.

The time frame would be a month or maybe two weeks to take a screenshot of anything in-game. It can be a repeated thing much like the SOTW and have themes too. No editing of the screenshots though!

It may take u an hour to get a great screenie, i know it does for me. i constantly take and retake. review it, delete it and try it again.

some tips:

take the screenie just before the skill hits the mob, that way it eliminates the damage # popup/crit animation.

zoom in. if the view is too far out, the screenie is typically unusable.

I like the idea, though I'd also like there to be a minimum amount of otehr people doing it before it gets started o.o

Meaning? So it doesn't end up being 1-2 people entering like the SOTW? :P

I like that idea. We haven't had a contest on here in awhile. And thats something everyone can do.

How do you turn off interface?

Go to game settings, and press the bubble next to interface.

that sounds fun, but... that sounds like A LOT of criteria O_O

sometimes a story come from some chat bubbles..... =/

It sounds like a good idea, except I think there might be some that might think it unfair due to level differences and the limited spaces/stuff they can do...But otherwise, sounds like a good contest.

They're not actual criterias... I just copied and pasted (gonna edit). :P But I think turning off interfaces is important. ^^; Chat bubbles for sure are okay.

@bloodrops: It's about creativity and just because you've got a picture of the higheset level boss/map, doesn't mean you'll win the contest. :P

Yup! I think that'll be interesting! maybe more people will enter since... a screenshot is easier to take than making a siggy.... :p even unartisting ppl like me can "easily" participate in SOTW (Screenie of the week? LOL)

Poll vote to see who wins? Maybe we can alternate sotw and screenshot contest? sotw one week, screenshot the next. So like, instead of having two sotw's going, we can have 1 sotw going and a 1 screenshot contest going. Adds a bit of variety rather than just sotw.. since there's been little entries lately. o:

And when we put up the votes we probably need to just put in the hyperlink or something.... or else the page is just gonna stretch sooooooooo bad with all the screens in the poll. Maybe hyperlink the name of the contestant with a link to the full size, and we show a resized image in the poll? o:

Or thumbnail the pics... if that's possible....? (thumbnail usually links to full picture)

Nice idea Love... Wait, I have one good shot from my job change quest, but the timer is still on the very top right corner of the screen, can it like just be ignored? :D The shot is nice... I think... Story? Yeah, me and Elderine lived happily ever after and Roumen burns in the fire while we look into each others eyes.

We did it in BR ... its fun idea.

Don't have to be too picky with KQ timers and whatnot. But having majority of the interface off will look much more appealing. :3

Doesn't have to tell a story either but you can possibly have a caption underneath? And I like the back to back idea thing.

It would be fun to have themes too... that way the voters have something to look out for when we vote!

Themes like, boss, green, big, small, dance, human, spirit and anything else that's a bit random but general at the same time...

It would be really nice to have a screenshot contest! xD

Especially for me, since I'm a screenshot wh0re and I screenie everything that comes up =w= 1 mil screenshots or something up to date xD

Yeahh! I just back up 3 gigs of screens~~ I think I have 5-6 gigs backed up somewhere, LOL.

That sounds insane ^^ Well, I guess it's a good thing in a way that you get to explore diff compositions, colors, angles etc :P
