Does dex increase damage for archers?
 

Just a quick question I can't figure out. Am I suppose to put in any str for my archer?

Dex does not increase damage it increases your accuracy. Strenght would be something to increase your damage if thats what your looking for.

I suppose an argument could be made, that DEX indirectly increases your damage by making you miss less. Archer's though already have the highest aim, in-game without adding to it.

Also rumored that DoTs hit more often with a higher Dex stat, but that's not exactly confirmed.

Never heard the DoT thing before...well you also get a greater success of DoT by doing Power or aim shot before them. i.e. Power then Poison Aim then Bleed.

Well you dont really need the Dex for aim since i dont miss at all even when Aoeing. Maybe at lower levels it's different, but later on Dex is not good.

I suppose it makes sense in a real-world sort of way :P


Easier to Bleed/Poison/Disease if you have an open wound first from an Aimed or Power Shot.

I think it has something to do with the amount of time in between shots... because Fury Shot and Bone Shot are both insta-cast skills so if you fire them too quickly, they might not register.

But idk.

So a full dex build will actually hurt me in higher levels?

Does anyone know any good builds I could use? Maybe like a gap build? (keeping dex a certain number of points lower than str or vice-versa)

Well, a majority of Archers go full STR or hybrid STR/SPR for damage potential.


DEX isn't as useful because Archers rarely miss and don't dodge that much to be that good. DEX is somewhat good as a PvP build though.

I'm not so sure about that, my Epith archer seems to be doing well... Except for the times he's in GC and GH kq, but oh well he's 25 and none DEX...

Well, my archer is level 4 right now, and pure DEX so far. Should I just start over and go pure str or am I fine right now?

Also consider STR/SPR(up to 25) build for the crits.


You could start over, lvl 4 is fast to get.

So should I just get pure str? Or maybe +10 dex to keep crits and accuracy going?

SPR adds crits, not DEX.

People go either pure STR or STR/ 25SPR hybrid.
