Halp!
Mozilla Firefox windows keep popping up!!! whats happening??? I tried rebooting and everything and they keep doing that! D:
|
Wait. Is it tabs or like tons and tons of mozillas that appear on your taskbar? o.o
|
yes! someone please tell me whats happening, because it took me forever to post this post due to 50 million and 5 Mozilla firefox windows opening. >.<
|
Could be a virus. We had that a while ago but with explorer. What anti-virus program are you using? We use zone alarm and its so far the best. Beats norton and yeahh @_@;;;
|
A virus? well I have Lavasoft SE Personal and ATG. Those are considered one of the best there is and I scanned my computer and everything and nothing is wrong with it.
I think it might be a firewall where Mozilla Firefox can't update. Usually when Mozilla updates a window automatically pops up so since it cant update, they just keep popping up....but I dont know. I figured since Fiestafan encourages us to use Mozilla Firefox, someone would know whats going on >.< |
Huh. I've never had that problem with the updates for mozilla o.o
|
LOL. Kay, this sucks xD
|
could be a rootkit hiding the virus.
Have to eleminate the root-kit first. |
Oh. I remember we couldn't find it either! But I dunno why...we actually had to ask my brother's friend who is like a computer expert. Our dad usually knows and my oldest brother but they didn't know what to do after everything they had already done xD But yeahh. Listen to Ivory :3
|
how would I delete it?
|
Once we got zone alarm, it found it right away. Nothing else worked. We even wiped the whole system and it didn't work. Your problem may not be the same but it sounds like it is...just with mozilla D:
I fail at explaining things ._. |
So I should get zone alarm?
It will be challenging because of all the windows popping up. So did lots of windows pop up for you? |
shut down your computer or just pull out the plug if it's that bad and can't shut it down properly. Remove the battery if it's a laptop.
Re-boot in Safe Mode and do your scans. |
Lots? You have no idea @_@;;; It wasn't so bad at first and then it got worse and my dad was freaking out xD He thought he would lose his stuff. Well the stuff he didn't get to save to CD yet D:
But umm, I really don't know if you have the same problem. If you don't...you'd be wasting time and money on zone alarm...possibly :x So I'm not sure. I've been asking my dad and he said this sounds like the same problem too but he's still unsure. I mean...we can't see whats going on o.o And about what Ivory said...if that works then its def not the same thing we had o.o |

Uh, okay I have a strange virus as well, and I hope someone can help me. It's just that, if my computer stays connected to the internet for longer than ~50 min, my computer reboots. If i disconnect and re-connect my internet before those ~50 min, it doesn't reboot. I also noticed I have an abnormally large number of "scvhost.exe" processes running. Before this virus, I remember having 2 svchost.exe under NETWORK SERVICE , 1 under LOCAL SERVICE and 1 under SYSTEM. Now I have tons.
http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/6822/virusgi7.th.png Sorry for the huge size. Also, before this virus, I had a different virus called Virtumonde. It got detected by my SpyBot and was erased. But now I have this virus D: Help me please! |

For instance, after clicking 'safe mode', all of these phrases ( that are files I think) repeatedly appear. I checked to see if I had any floppy disk or anything else in the hard drive but I didnt. |
Chances that you have a root-kit just went up o.o
some smart root-kits disable processes/make it harder to remove them. Get AVG Anti-Rootkit or something similar. I'd suggest going to professional help or wiping and reinstalling your computer. |
I have AVG.
I scanned with that, but I'm guessing it dosent read it? |
yeah, root-kits are particularly hard to get as they hide viruses while not being detected themselves :/
|
any program you suggest me getting?
|
AVG Anti-RootKit but it might even just be a virus that scanner missed.
|
ok.
thanks for the help, I'll have to seek professional help. Edit ~ I hate computers with a passion. |
