Curious

How hard would it be to have a level up exp guide?

Something that tells you at level 1 you need 10 exp, level 2 you need xx exp, at level 60 you need 1,xxx,xxx exp.

That way people could look at, let's say level 38, and see that they will get 50,000 exp on quests alone and they need 115,000 exp to level up to 39. (by the way, I was pulling numbers out of the air on my example).

But, this lets people know how much girnding they have to do. It might be more useful for the lower levels, because we all know that the higher levels involve a bunch of grinding, but I thought it was a good idea.

Vasu 05-16-2008 03:01 PM

It'll be pretty hard. We'll need 1 guy of each level in our community, or we'll have to have a volunteer for lvling from 1 ~ 79 in a short span of time, noting down the exp he needs each lvl. lol.

it would help

Spirit 05-16-2008 03:36 PM

I am currently working my cleric, so I could get the exp requirements from level 37 on up. But, we would need help with 36 and below. It might take a while, but the end results would be very helpful.

Yami 05-16-2008 03:38 PM

I think it's a good idea. And everyone can help, can't they? Just make a thread where people can post it if they are the appropriate lvl or something.

Vasu 05-16-2008 03:40 PM

Ok, my archer could do 25-36...except I won't be going on much very soon, so better give that job to someone else.

Yosei 05-16-2008 04:19 PM

I'm sure someone could try.

Ralath 05-16-2008 05:01 PM

We do have a handy, dandy little chart somewhere in the wiki...

Here:

http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Mage_Leveling
http://www.fiestafan.com/wiki/Fighter_Guides

I think I might have filled in one of the rows for the Archer... and I guess the clerics don't get one... xD

Also, kind of redudant to have 3 different tables just for xp. The HP/SP stones need to be updated to match the new increased amount.

And it would be nice if the format for all four sections matched up.

But at least that's a good starting point. :3

Spirit 05-16-2008 05:06 PM

cool. But, yeah, there are a lot of blanks in there. And it looks like the exp beside the level is how much you need to get to That level. I would have done it so level 1 had 10, because you need 10 exp to level to 2.

So, now we will have to remember that when I had the exp for my current level 37 - it actually goes in the 38 spot, because that is how much exp it takes to get there.

Arathyne 05-16-2008 05:56 PM

I can create a new charcter and do from level 1 upwards.

Spirit 05-16-2008 06:01 PM

cool, but I have a level 23 archer, so I wouldnt do any further than that, unless you just want to keep working them.

wow, cool. My fighter is a level 50. So, I can fill in those that are missing in the 50s as she levels.

Ivramire 05-16-2008 06:55 PM

Using a graphic calculator and the values provided in the table, someone could find the xp formula and maybe draw up an xp graph, determining whether xp needed is exponential, quadratic or a power function.

This is coming from a guy who gets Cs and Bs in Math btw, but it shouldn't be difficult.

Ralath 05-16-2008 07:52 PM

That's assuming the xp is exponential...

I heard there are some pretty big jumps though. Like... after 61? But.. mebbe it's still exponential.

Ivramire 05-16-2008 08:03 PM

I think that even from 1-20, it might be exponential lol

There's also a pretty big jump at lvl 68ish/69

Spirit 05-16-2008 08:15 PM

If there is one, I have not found it yet. I can tell you I have found some patterns, but they are not consistent. I will keep trying.

It is a logarithmic curve that becomes linear over time.

It goes up an exponential hill very early on until just before the seventies, where it becomes linear. This is so apparent on a graph. They picked quite a big growth constant, so I guess that's why they flattened it using a linear scale instead :zip: My initial thought was that they didn't plan on levels beyond 69, therefore they didn't foresee the absolutely huge increases that will follow in the level 80s. I wonder.

Logarithmic??! Lol I don't think so!

Looks the same, just starting point is different. Very different.

It's late at night, so I mistyped for one rare instance. Go figure.

Those are exponential and logarithmic curves side by side. Not a bit 'the same'. Not just the starting point.
