No stone/potion pvp fights....

.....Are so much more fun than spamming heals. Its also a better depiction of your character's pvp skills.

Ivramire 05-15-2008 12:18 AM

wouldn't fights like those be slanted for one class more than others?

Hessah 05-15-2008 12:29 AM

its about the only way a cleric might win!

Ivramire 05-15-2008 12:32 AM

so it's Mage/Cleric dominance?

what happens when the Cleric runs out of Sp?

Hessah 05-15-2008 12:34 AM

then... too bad? XD

but usually they run out of HP before you run out of SP...

our weakest point is fighter's stun i think.... (and mage's fear?)

JamieBear 05-15-2008 01:14 AM

I think the only thing that throws this off balance is cleric's heal.

Ivramire 05-15-2008 01:20 AM

Clerics and Fighters rely on stones and pots to survive while they move to close range to attack ranged DDs. Clerics can heal of course, but that wastes time that could be spent running towards a target. If theres no stones or pots, that's somewhat of an advantage.

Fighters would be dead pretty quick.

Hessah 05-15-2008 01:29 AM

yeah might hv to jump up to a horse to catch up to them XD

i once used a speed scroll to catch up on the archer that was trying to kite me...

Vasu 05-15-2008 06:45 AM

Pity you can't use potions/scrolls once inside FBZ. PvP arena is fine though.

05-15-2008 06:46 AM

well i just lernd a 20 fight full end with +9 1h owns a lvl 28 fighter with easy
i did it today with my new +9 1h lolz it ownage my fighter mine and
mikey altimet pt my fighter full end mikeys full str i tank he kills lolz

Vasu 05-15-2008 06:55 AM

Well, that depends, did the lvl 28 dude have a +9? Otherwise it's pretty obvious you won.

Triumph 05-15-2008 12:37 PM

Once you get into the high levels, it doesn't matter what level you are—if a fighter gets close enough to you, you're screwed. Yay for Devastate.

Ivramire 05-15-2008 06:04 PM

Mage/Fighter PvP with no stones/pots would be interesting I think.

But if the Mage is 60+, automatic Mage victory.

You don't need Frost Nova to win. If it's no stones/potions, Mana Burn followed by an Ice spell and subsequent chain will drop the fighter easily.

Ivramire 05-15-2008 08:36 PM

I was thinking more of Fear o.o

that easy huh.

I bore of Fear. I invent new ways to kill.

For example, no potions/stones, against a cleric:

Ice Blast -> Purge -> Chain Casting -> Mana Burn -> Mana Burn -> Frost Nova -> Inferno -> Fire Ball -> Ice Blast -> Magic Blast -> usual chain etc.

Ralath 05-15-2008 10:52 PM

O___O

Cleric Triumph is less scarier than Mage Triumph.

Ivramire 05-15-2008 11:13 PM

Clerics don't scare anyone though, lol

As a cleric...

Restore -> heal -> invince -> bash -> chase -> chase -> chase -> chase.....

XD how much SP would mana burn take out?

Ivramire 05-15-2008 11:40 PM

dunno, but if it's maxed for the Mage's level, two might take all of it or leave a negligible amount. Mages are the real PvP class if played right, along with Axers.

The level 75 one burns 2600. Unless you use extenders, you won't have enough SP for invincibility after the first burn, as your average cleric has ~2700 or so SP unbuffed. Dunno, since I no longer play cleric. The second Mana Burn is a safety measure if the first fails to hit, or there is sufficient SP enough to annoy the living hell out of me.

And if you duel me, there won't be any chasing. I'll stand there, and you can bash me while Inferno and Frost Nova chip away at your health. xD

Indeed.

Ralath 05-16-2008 03:51 AM

How did you get your mage up to level 70 so fast? =O

Ivramire 05-16-2008 04:00 AM

Clerics aren't really the class for PvP. Only full STR +9ed equips maximum stat green/blues are real contenders.

btw, @ lvl 71 with some SPR from greens = 3100SP with buff, so numbers look right

Vasu 05-16-2008 04:07 AM

Yeah mana burn is a real killer of clerics in PvP. SP = HP for a cleric.
