Closed Beta: The most likely outcome.
 

Recently while walking in Elderine, I overheard about half (probably) the Fiesta community debating over what's going to happen once this closed beta ends. There are some people who believe they'll keep their characters, names and accounts whilst there are others that don't. I'm writing this thread in order to try and clear up rumours, so players aren't so confused about what's most likely going to happen. There haven't been any official announcements so far, but this post will be either deleted or edited once we get official word.

Also, I'm not claiming to know "the truth", because in reality most of these are assumptions. All I'm trying to do is allow people to understand the most likely outcome once CB finishes. The outcome is going to be debated about (in fact it is being debated about), but these are the best answers anyone can really give until the official announcements roll out.

Will I be able to keep my character?

As much as I'd like to say "yes, definitely" odds are, your character's going to be wiped. I had a discussion with rokaraged a while back, and concluded (thanks to rokaraged) that there were three reasons for this. One, a majority of CB's, excluding rumble fight and trickster online (thanks Rightclaw), wipe their character database. Now I'm no rocket scientist, but I do believe Fiesta is in closed beta, and will follow suit with the majority of MMO's. The second reason Fiesta characters will get wiped is because of it's crooked economy at the moment. I'm not just talking money, I'm talking character levels as well. As fun as the events were, they completely lopsided everything. Lastly, and I'll just quote this for convenience:

Will I keep my characters name?

This one's difficult to answer. Everyone remembers the original email that was sent out for CB1. It had this in it:


It's difficult to say whether they meant permanent for just the period of the Closed Beta, or whether they meant the character name would be kept for the account's existence. A majority of you would say the latter without hesitation. Yet I put forward this question, if the server wipe is most likely inevitable, then your character must begin again at level one, correct? With that in mind, does that mean Outspark will pick your class? Outspark said they'd reserve your character's name, yet I don't recall them saying anything about picking the character class for you. It's only because of this that I personally was confused about the server wipe. Though I'm more then certain it'll happen, it makes me think how Outspark chooses to solve this conundrum.

Short answer: Inconclusive.

Will I be keeping my account?

I was pretty surprised when I heard this question in orange chat while in-game. It was probably a misprint, or written by someone with a small understanding of the word. Let's just say this is a dull question, and the answer is yes. Actual user accounts never get deleted after MMO Closed Beta's, as it doesn't benefit the game itself in any way for the player. If accounts were wiped, it'd prove more of an inconvenience for both party's than anything.

Short answer: Yes.

In writing this, I hope I've cleared up the rumours floating around the Fiesta community at present and haven't flared anyone up. If you've really got something against what I've written, post about it and we'll discuss it with the rest of FiestaFan. Please abstain from flaming in my threads. Though I don't have the power to do it myself, I can always ask one of the mods to delete your post.

Reasons why more CBs

1. In the Chinese version of the game there were 4 closed betas
2. The lvl cap right now is 59 bugs 60 and up need to be found

Reasons why go to OB

1. Stress testing has been done on server and lots of lag is starting to show. New server needs to be opened
2. the majority of bugs lvl 1 -59 have been found and it will take players some time to reach that spot again

true but some people might want to make another class in OB and they might think of that

Well since it's level 1 all they would have to do is delete it and re-make quickly.

I think when you start up fiesta for the name and you create a character in the name slot it will say xxxxxxx. And no one can use that name even if you don't.

another question:how much longer will cbt2 last?

um the gms said that at the halfway mark of cbt2 they would realease cs items with free spark cash. i dont no if u hav noticed but the only cs items are given out by the gms. unless the gms hav gone against their own word cbt2 is gonna last for at least 2 and a half more weeks or even more depending on when the gms give the spark cash to us.

There's no real answer for your question Jim. It's commonly believed that it will end extremely soon.

Although the GM's have the power to moderate the game, they don't have power much beyond that. They can't choose when certain things will be implemented into the game, because that isn't their place. GM's exist solely to moderate the game.

The cash shop will most likely be implemented next patch. This may explain delays in the closing of CB2.

But do keep in mind, most of what I've said is highly speculated, so don't get your hopes up.

you're saying there isn't a wait time to reuse the name of a deleted character? i haven't deleted one yet i'm just used to there being a wait time after deleting a character before the name can be used again. if there isn't a wait time then good.

Not exactly sure myself, don't feel like deleting a char to try it out either.

And now I address this to the best of my ability. Yes, a character reset would most likely be have all names be set back to level one. However, I was thinking that they would simply reset all characters to level one, but retain the same hair and face that they had when they started at first, and possibly even the guilds and friends registered.

There's also another possibility.

There could be something similar for the ijji GunZ CB event as well. The top 100 players got name reservations, I believe. It's been heard and confirmed that the GMs have the power to rename people (someone said that their "Break" name got renamed to "Biyak".) Therefore, GMs might do things similar to what happened for Mission Impossible - Go through, check every account, write down the names associated with that account, and tell all those who got level 20 to e-mail them at Outspark staff (only once, I'd imagine), and rename the accounts accordingly. This could be a supplement to the "delete all accounts" theory. However, the hassle that most likely will accompany this could make the GMs pissy for a week.
