Anyone liking the new Roumen?

I don't think it made a difference, I see many stores in the middle of the road in Roumen. There are more stores in the middle of the road then in that Market Place.

04-25-2008 05:18 AM

i hate it

Ralath 04-25-2008 05:24 AM

I do notice a decrease in the number of stores around and about.

But if they have this marketplace, then they need to implement it for the whole map. Some people are actually using the marketplace but some people have set up shop elsewhere. What's the point of the marketplace if people can set up shop just 10 "feet" outside the marketplace.

Yes, it will be a pain for those people who like to set up a store to buy petals near the flowers or SBL by the gate to FoT (like me) but if they have this marketplace, they should use it properly.

I shouldn't have to guess where all the stores are.

Loveless 04-25-2008 08:03 AM

I don't even go to Roumen. And my alt just stays near the Storage Lady.

Though, I think it looks nice.

Lady-Loki 04-25-2008 12:31 PM

I'm rather neutral on the new map. It basically only added space to relocate the vending that occurred on the upper level of Rouman and didn't really add new NPC's or access to any new map area so - eheh.

When the new area opened I set my alt up in there to buy mats and in 24-hrs only got about 12 pieces. Opposed to where I was set up at on the upper level of Old Rouman where I could get upward of 250 pieces in 24-hrs. So I moved out to the Old Rouman area that still allows vending and in the next 24-hrs was able to buy about 150 pieces. Still not as well as what I was able to buy in my original spot on the upper level, but better than in the marketplace of the new area.

It's in my best interest to vend where the traffic is, and the traffic was not going into the new area since they could find what they were looking for (to buy or sell) in the Old Rouman lower level, so until vending is blocked in ALL areas of Old Rouman, or the New Rouman Marketplace catches on better (whichever comes first) I will vend where I am able to get the best hits on my shop.

You don't have to guess. There is really not any more places to look than before, it is just that the upper level of Old Rouman is relocated to the Marketplace area of New Rouman. It use to be lower level shopping (area 1) & upper level shopping (area 2) and now it is lower level shopping (area 1) and lower level marketplace shopping (area 2). Still just 2 areas.

cillia 04-26-2008 05:26 AM

well for me, i have horrid lag, and when they made the new part of the map, it seemed to decrease the amount of people in 1 spot, which really helps me.

For instance: when i had just downloaded the patch and ported to roumen, i thought the server had gone down or something becuz there weren't any ppl around the upper part of roumen... i could actually see the whole running cycle... >.>
i think the new area helps reduce lag...

viasta 04-26-2008 02:36 PM

there's a new roumeN? anyone care to post a screenshot?

Zwivix 04-26-2008 05:14 PM

New Roumen ftl. Didnt change anything. The Market Place is empty and they took out the trees...I liked the trees.

Hyper 04-26-2008 05:47 PM

The only thing I like is not having to walk all the way to Sand Beach past the Tides entrance. Much more convenient.

jorgeh92094 04-26-2008 08:37 PM

Its a nice addition, but really hasnt changed anything.

Sinto 04-27-2008 08:25 AM

o.o It's just another waste of space imo.

Ivramire 04-27-2008 08:34 AM

haven't even seen it yet

Kyrillos 04-27-2008 08:47 AM

I'd be fine if more people used it.

a.L 04-27-2008 08:58 AM

I saw a grand total of... 3 shops today!

Flowersss 04-27-2008 09:56 AM

They pretty much made more room for spammers...I see more and more spammers every time I go there.

Dezza 04-27-2008 11:07 AM

I think it was a good idea, but not very well thought out.

1. You cannot 'shroom at the spawn point near Robin anymore. I knew that you couldn't vend, but they've blocked 'shrooming for health too.

2. I went to the "marketplace" yesterday. It was empty. There were no vendors there at all. All the vendors were just outside the market place, near the facelift shop. If they're blocking vending except in the marketplace, they should do it properly!

3. If they do intend for people to vend only in the marketplace, it will mean I need to look harder for what I want. Back in the old Roumen (Note that it is Roumen not Rouman - that really annoys me) I knew that I could find Elrue / Lix / Xir and second-hand weapons and armour near the smith. I knew that I could sell T1 drops between Tides gate and Robin etc. Now all I know is that it'll be in the Market Place.

4. The lag will be unbelievable. It was bad enough just getting from Sea of Greed to Sand Beach. If I actually want to go shopping it'll be painful.

5. What's with all the furniture in the market place? If people are going to use it that needs to be taken out. It might make it look nice, but if you keep bumping into things no-one's going to go there.

6. (General Point): Is there an equivilent of Trading Standards in Fiesta? I would like to see people be banned from vending for a week or so for false advertising. Things like "Cheapest [item] in [town]" when there's a stall next to them selling it cheaper, or for people saying "[item] @ [price]" when the price advertised != the price they're actually selling it at. Also, what's with all the notices like "Get your $$$$ here"? Isya != United States of America. Does that mean I can go around saying "Get your ££££ here"? Neither Pounds or Dollars are the currency in Isya.

7. (General Point 2): It should be coded into the game that when a vendor runs out of stuff to buy/sell they should turn into a shroom and stop being a vendor. It irritates me that I click on a vendor and it's empty. Granted, they are likely breaking the ToS for being AFK, but it would save so much hassle.

Just my 2p.

DrHeroGod 04-27-2008 06:42 PM

I dont like how oyu can't place a store in the ally way wiht the smith and teh skill trainer. And whats the point of the extra dock thing?

Ah, LOL. same here....I'd shank them mo fo's

Ivramire 04-27-2008 10:29 PM

They should make a button similar to the block button where if enough people vote for it, that person is deemed Player-Killable.

Like a spammer is shouting in Town and instead of just blocking him, people click a PK option. If maybe 50 people click PK on that character, anyone in town can kill him. PKed characters are sent to a Graveyard, where they cannot respawn until they enter a random generated code which is different every time.

Maybe it'd stop spam-bot use, as there isn't any point to a bot that you have to watch every time to respawn if you're PKed.

Just a thought~

I like the way you think!

Hyper 04-27-2008 11:16 PM

The new route to Sand Beach is sooooo much more convenient. Love it.

I'd die about 401475912 times.

that is cool! the 50th (or even 30 would be good enough i think) person that click on "PK mode" will have the bot's name turned red, and they can kill it..

ajc2123 04-28-2008 01:10 AM

Well it reduced a LOT of lag for me so even if the marketplace isnt being used, I like it.

secbro20 04-28-2008 12:03 PM

Yeah, I like how near the smith and the main street heading out of town that there are like no shops to cause enormous lag. Its nice.

Ralath 04-29-2008 04:21 AM

I think it's decreased the number of shops in general.

Even after going through the entire town, I don't see as many shops as I did.

(Maybe it was because I signed in on strange times?)
