If you are having problems with the new update

http://www.outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142040

Here is a link to the current manual patch. Not sure how long it will be good for. Apparently they update this one thread when they need to update the manual patch so I will sticky this and leave it as it is. If anyone experiences a problem with the link, let me know so I can correct it.

Flowersss 04-23-2008 05:18 PM

i clicked it, and it helped a whole lot ;D
The Troubleshooting section pretty much has every single solved problem you can think of!

Manzcar 04-24-2008 10:48 AM

Yes thanks had a problem with my laptop, but the manual patch fixed it right up.:D

Spirit 07-30-2008 10:52 PM

Bumping, because I had problems with the new update and want to make this seen for other people.

Lady-Loki 08-06-2008 11:26 AM

Had to manual patch again. That's 2 in a row, wonder if I should uninstall & reinstall.

Lady-Loki 08-20-2008 11:16 AM

Had to manual update again. Found this patch in this thread:

http://outspark.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58835

(Wouldn't it be nice if Outspark had just one thread with the Manual Patch link updated each time rather than me having to try all of them my search results brings back?)

Hraesvelg 08-20-2008 11:19 AM

Ha. We're melting their site servers.

@Melissa, the same thing came up when I tried log on...This sucks...
How is it that Fiesta has problems every time they update it? xD

Diydiva81 08-20-2008 01:59 PM

I don't know it I (finally) fixed the server/patch problem, but now I'm getting an unauthorized access warning with "a failure to connect server" when I try to log in.

Edit: I think I should of read what was posted before hand. (Like, DUH!!!):err:

bloodrops 08-20-2008 02:18 PM

Lol I almost did that too.
Just bumping so people check this...instead of posting the same topic somewhere else ^^

Spirit 08-31-2008 12:25 AM

Updated link. Plus bumping in case anyone has problems with the new maintenance.

Lady-Loki 08-31-2008 02:03 PM

On my second PC I got a similar message and i clicked continue and it went to another error that told me I needed to upgrade the .Net Framework, but when I tried to download .Net Framework 2. it told me it was not compatible with the previously installed version of .Net Framework so I tried to uninstall that version and the system told me it was unable to uninstall.

Stopped at that point coz that pretty much took too much time and I just need more time to figure out what to do with it and since I have this PC and my laptop it was not crucial that I spend hours, nay days, trying to resolve it at this time.

Draven_25 09-01-2008 01:37 AM

Your cleric no longer has a cleric???? :urweird:

Try logging into the Outspark forums. If you can log in there, then you still have an account.

Dynamics 09-01-2008 05:46 AM

Had some patch problems o: "OutSpark requires 2 arguments"

http://www.outspark.com/forums/showp...4&postcount=16

Works now but I have to always run the shortcut, the original .exe just gives me indexing errors (bad coding i think). Just a heads up in case anyone else is experiencing the same.

Make sure you copy "C:\Program Files\Outspark\Launcher\outspark.exe" --run fiesta and not just what's quoted.
--run fiesta isn't instructions to run fiesta.

lamchopz 09-01-2008 06:51 AM

I had to patch the launcher manually to make it work.

You really have to do it a bit of work here:

Download the manual patch on the official forum. Run the executable. Now when it asks where to install, DO NOT select the path to your Fiesta folder. Change the install location to Desktop (for convenience, that's all). After the installation is finished, copy the content in the folder on Desktop and paste them into C:\Program Files\Outspark\Launcher. A prompt will ask if you want to replace existing files, select "Replace All". Start launcher and happy playing.

Reason why you have to do all that: the patch does not come with all the necessary files that you will see the program's Launcher folder. It only contains launcher executable and the associated files that change the interface.

Draven_25 09-01-2008 07:28 AM

I'm still getting the two arguments thing.. but I did exactly what you've said to try..

lamchopz 09-01-2008 08:44 AM

basically I uninstalled Fiesta and Launcher. Reinstalled it, let it finishing update and patched it manually. lol

I think I got the "2 arguments" error when I tried to install the patch into the Launcher location. Just start afresh. After uninstalling Fiesta in the Start menu, go to C:\Program Files\Outspark\Launcher, click uninstall.exe to remove the launcher. Then reinstall Fiesta normally and go back to what I said.

Worked for me. Not sure how it'll turn out for you.

Draven_25 09-01-2008 10:13 AM

Draven_Ryder is up and running again.. Thanks so much guys..

and my girlfriends cleric wasnt showing up as existing but she is back now..

lamchopz 09-02-2008 02:46 AM

good to know ^^

how did you fix it by the way?

In_Dying_Days 09-02-2008 03:11 AM

I've done everything in this thread and it still doesn't work for me!

lamchopz 09-02-2008 07:28 AM

I'm really not an expert but please check the following (if you've already done any one of the steps, please ignore it):

- Do you have .NET framework v2? Go to Control Panel, fire up Add or Remove Programs, and look for Microsoft .NET framework 2 (possibly with Service Pack 1, too). If you can't find it, you don't have it and will have to download it here.

- Check your firewall settings. Make sure that Fiesta is not blocked. A majority (if not all) of newer firewalls have HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention System) which basically monitors and blocks suspicious activities running native in the system. Depending on the interface of your firewall, you might have accidentally instructed it to block Fiesta.

- Head over to Outspark and download the latest installer: link. You will need to sign in with your Outspark account (it's the one you use to log in the game to play) to download the file.

- Remove your current version of Fiesta. Don't forget to remove the Launcher also. Browse to C:\Programs\Outspark, you'll see two folders Fiesta and Launcher. In each of the folders, you will see a file named uninstall. Double click on them to remove both Fiesta and Launcher.

- Install the latest version (you just downloaded it before).

- Let it update. After each update, if it takes more than 10 seconds to show up, manually start it from the Start menu as you would normally. You may have to do this a few times until it says "Your version of this game is up-to-date". Note that the launcher has a quite different interface (not vastly different), if you can see it, you can log in normally.

- If, when you quit the game and restart the launcher and see the old interface (lwhich is what happened to me and it would not let me log in the servers), patch the launcher manually.

> Download the manual patch here and save it to Desktop for convenience.
> Run the file. When it asks where to install, change the install Location to Desktop.
> After it's done, open the folder on Desktop (which would be Outspark\Launcher) and copy the content in Launcher folder to C:\Program Files\Outspark\Launcher.
> When prompted "Do you want to replace the exisitng files...", select "Replace All".
> When everything is finsihed, try to start the launcher normally.

- If it doesn't work still, you might want to have a look at this. I think this is the solution for "Outspark needs 2 arguments" error, previously posted by Dynamics.

- If all of these fail, contact Outspark Support.

1) Your complete computer specifications including your Operating System, Video Card, RAM, and CPU
2) Your Internet Connection speed
3) A screenshot if possible of the error message
4) A short list of all the background programs running. This includes anti-virus software, anti-spyware, anti-hacks etc.
5) Your Outspark.exe log file attached to the email

By default, this file is located at

C:Program FilesOutsparkLauncheroutspark.exe

If you for some reason are unable to obtain any of these details, just provide us with partial information if you can. Your information will help us locate the problem and solve the issue faster.

P.S.:

- If you're using Windows Vista, you will need to perform most of the above actions with Administrative Privilege (to run uninstall, for example, the simplest way is to right click on the file and select "Run as Administrator").

- If you have more than one partition on your drive, that's good. If you have a massive hard drive, considering partitioning it. Save a partition for programs and install Fiesta there. Since Fiesta is still a beta release, it should not stay in C:\Program Files because if something goes wrong, your Windows files will be affected. In short, it's better to keep third party programs on a dedicated partition. This is true also for any programs that are not from Microsoft. Some applications don't do well with some others and if this conflict happens on your Windows drive (usually C), you're asking for troubles. For things such as alpha and beta releases in particular, it's strongly recommended that you keep them away from the Windows partition (normally lettered C).

This has been what it looks like ever since I installed fiesta too. Even some monsters (mostly anything with wolf or the goblins in 4x abyss) have been completely invisible. I believe it has something to do with your RAM or graphics card. My bro's laptop downloaded fiesta in 30 mins (O_O) on the same internet connection and he has 1g of RAM. Everything looks perfect on there.

ILiGhTI 07-16-2009 05:42 PM

soyrathebroken 05-17-2010 11:01 AM

i think the thread you linked to was removed,i can't access it. :cries:

I'm having this issue when i attempt to log in to the game:"servers unable to connect" or something like that </3
and i put in my username and password correctly,i even checked my email to make sure...

also what does manual patch mean?
and might it help if i uninstall then reinstall it?

P.S. I've not even got to play the game yet

Kaini 05-17-2010 12:06 PM

You have to do it a couple times after you first install it. I had to do the same thing. just keep trying and don't run anything else while it's going, just let it sit, and if you try enough times you will get in. Then it won't be as bad next time you do it.
